- Q:Have a 480 volts 3 phase 16 amp motor. Need 400 ft of extention cord. Is is OK to use a SOOW 10/4 cable, the voltage drop is 2.67%(12 volts). Machine is powerd by a generator that I can run at 500 volts to counter the voltage drop.8/4 cable cost twice as much, but the voltage drop is 1.7%(8 volts).
- I suppose this may work, just remember make sure you don't overheat your cord, and your motor runs ok with this setup, over or under voltage is hard on a motor. try using a volt meter on the motor while under load in order to find the proper voltage for the generator, that % is calculated and may not be acurate in real life.
- Q:I'm about to order everything to put a new sound system in my Jeep Wrangler and I've been planning the locations to run new wires and cables. I got to looking at the area's where I could run the power cable for the amp and have come to 2 conclusions. I could either drill a hole in a very difficult to reach but hidden area behind the dash and try to hide the cable on the interior of the Jeep all the way to the rear where the amp is.. or, I could run the cable inside the hollow frame rails (which have many pre-drilled holes to slip the cable in and out of) under the Jeep and then just drill a hole to the interior in an easy to reach location near the amp. My only concern is that the cable's insulation will breakdown and crack prematurely due to exposure to water and road salts.. is this a real risk if I run the cable on the exterior of the vehicle? Or will the cable hold up just as well as any other cable such as those in the engine compartment? Thanks for your help!

- Q:cable or do they need certain ones, I ask because this PSU: has no power cable with it so will i have to get a certain power cable for that wattage or are they all the same???please answer, 10 points for first answer
- all psu's ( even the ebuyer one) will use the same 3 pin cable.....just like the one most monitors use :) ...but uf u dont have any of these 3 pin power cables ur gnna have to buy one here is an image of one

- Q:I'm installing aftermarket amp and subwoofers in the trunk. I currently as a temporary fix ran the cable outside and in through the passenger door on the car, then under the carpet to the trunk. Is there a break in the firewall anywhere that I can put it through instead? Thanks for your help!
- well honestly im not familiar with preludes but what you do is pull the carpet down a little under the gas and brake pedel the should be a clearing spot in the fire wall from steering colum speedo cable or electrical. it wont look like much of hole but there will be a rubber plug take a flathead and scoot it out then run your power cable through that-wraping it with protective cover where it will lie in the firewall(so it dont cut the plastic and short something out) then tuck all the wires under the carpet along the runningboards. be patient it takes a while but in the end when you can see no wires it looks great

- I all my years, I've yet to see a power supply that doesn't come with a new power cable. Thing is, tho, the power cable is standard in 99.9% of power supplies. One will pretty much work on another.
- Q:I recently replaced my 300W Bestec power supply with a 600W corsair power supply. the 600W electric cable (the one that goes to the wall outlet) is too short, can i use the power cable of the 300W power supply ?
- hardship examining your question. Are you asserting which you have microprocessor that hangs once you're utilising a generator? is the generator powering the microprocessor? sure, interestingly that noise spikes or another noise from the generator is inflicting the reminiscence interior the processor to be changed. Is the processor in a shielded field? the ability grant? Are there any filters on the generator? all of those can help. Are there any archives lines linked to the processor? they could be the best suspects. they might could be shielded.
- Q:I never expected this problem,but I have an HP with a liteon power supply.The thing has these weird clips on the power cables that go into the hard drive.How do I free the hard drive power cables? I have to put in a new power supply for my video card.
- SATA just pulls out.. actually so does molex connectors (for IDE drives).. just very tough sometimes to get them out. If its black and kinda thin, then its probably SATA and they should just pull straight out.
