Q:I am looking for chair cover rentals for my wedding reception. What is the going rate for a standard solid color chair cover with a bow tied around the back? Just wondering what we should expect to pay and if they are worth the extra cost.
Our venue charges $4.50 per chair including a white cover and colored satin sash. That's about what I found to be average when I was looking at different venues and renting them from other venders. I think they are only worth the extra cost if the chairs are either really gross/ugly or completely clash with your color scheme -- for example the chairs at my venue are red but my colors are turquoise and white. I was considering buying a pack of 100 chair covers on OKorder and then selling them after my wedding... I found a few packs on there that were $300 (cheaper than renting at $3/chair), I figured I could make most of that back by selling them after I used them. Then I was going to buy bolts of tulle from a craft store (or on OKorder too) to make the sash/bow for the back of the chair.
Q:why on earth would I feel better in the morning sleeping in that old chair than in bed? thats just crazy
You are relaxed...?? Are you afraid to fall out of bed..? Not crazy..!! comfortable..? Secure..?
Q:I am designing a chair for a musician for a school project and have a few questions about the ergonomics of the chairs that musicians sit it while performing and practicing. a. How often (on average) do you practice/play per week? b. What is the proper posture for playing your instrument while sitting? c. Do you prefer to stand or sit when performing/practicing? Why? d. Do you have any physical ailments associated with sitting while playing your instrument? e. How does your seat position within an orchestral setting affect your playing? f. Do you have a favorite chair when practicing/playing? If so, what do you like about it? g. What do you like/not like about the chairs you are typically required to use? h. Would you consider buying a purposely-designed chair for playing if you knew it would help your performance and/or health? i. What characteristics would define an ideal musician’s seat for you and your instrument?
I play the flute, a. I play Monday through Friday for an hour with my school band, and about 30 minutes to an hour most evenings. b. Proper posture is to have both feet flat on the floor while sitting on the edge of the seat with a straight back. c. I prefer to stand when I'm playing by myself, because it makes breathing easier. d. If I have to hold my instrument up for a while, my arms ache, but it's nothing too major. e. The worst part about being a flute player is having to adjust for space and trying to hold the instrument around the chair. So we're constantly shifting, trying to get comfortable. f. The chair I like to use if I have to sit is a little taller and has a lower back. g. The chairs I have to use are generally hard plastic, which is uncomfortable, and they have high backs that are difficult to maneuver around. h. Yes I would. i. One with a lower back, so I could hold my instrument over it, and a little more suited to sitting for longer periods of time.
Q:how would you describe an old chair a sort of velvet well worn one in 20 words
Firewood.
Q:Should people who are over weight have to show proof of disability to use the electric wheel chairs ?? and do you think wheel chairs should be for people only who are realy sick with disability?
No they shouldnt stop them. Do you realize that obesity is considered a disablity for some. Most people who are overweight have a very hard time walking and using the carts to transverse a store is a very helpful tool for them. If I were overweight I probably would use one too but no one should stop them because they are. The stores need to get more carts like them if they are running out because their are a lot of people who need them.
Q:I want to do some exercising while I am sitting here at the computer in my chair. I have a normal chair, not a computer chair, so what can I do with it?
I'm doing a wild Madonna chair dance right now and feeling very physically fit :)
Q:I saw on the news this morning that the Majestic High Chairs were recalled. Well the one that I have is the Jungle Fun one. On the box right above where it says Jungle Fun it does say Majestic. Does anyone know if this would mean that it is a part of the recall? I went to the website about the recall and it didn't say. If it is a part of it, would I take it back to Babies R Us? I got it as a shower gift and I don't have a gift receipt or anything. It is still in the box, I know that the person who got it for me purchased it at Babies R US because it was marked off of my registry there. Thanks a bunch!!
Yours is a Majestic. You don't have to have a receipt. Just take it back. The jungle part is just the theme. The style chair is Majestic. There is also a number you can call to get the FREE repair kit.
Q:If handicap people in wheel chairs cant walk, how can they drive and use the pedals? is that even safe?
Yes, it is safe. Most people in wheel chairs can drive and use the pedals exactly the same way as everyone else. Many of them either a) have full use of their feet (when sitting) and are in wheel chairs only because they cannot stand due to problems with parts of their body that you don't use to drive, or b) are in wheel chairs only because of problems with the left side of their body, but have automatically and perfectly functioning right sides, which is all that matters, because you are supposed to use only the right foot for the pedals in a car with automatic transmission. (When driving, the left foot is supposed to be used only for the clutch pedal, and cars with automatic transmission don't have one.) In the very, very rare cases where the person's handicap does affect their ability to use the pedals, they get special hand controls installed that do the same thing as the pedals, except that you don't need your feet to operate them.
Q:i've got a 5 year old Staples deal that cost about $120 and it's not cutting it any more. If i want to get serious about a home office chair, what is a good brand/model?
If you can afford it, Steelcase chairs are great. I've bought two over the years and they offer great back support and have many adjustments available to fit your body type. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. I figure with as much time as I spend in an office chair, it's a wise investment.
Q:I bought this chair but it's hard for me to push the wheels in. Any tips??
Just put a small block of wood on the caster and tap it with a hammer. It will drive the shank of the caster into the hole and it will set itself. You are done. You don't want to hit the plastic wheel directly with a metal hammer because it could just snap off. Consumer ALERT!! You could just buy this type of chair at a 2nd hand store, spend $5.00 on a caster, and have a $199 chair in your house. People are so stupid.
