Q:I'm not native speaker.I saw a movie and there's a line that i couldn't understand.A : I'm gonna be as big as Sinatra.(I think A means he will be a famous star as Frank Sinatra.)B: Only if you stand on a chair.(This is what I couldn't understand. Is there any idiom that i don't know? Why B said like that?)A: Hey, why you gotta say that kind of stuff?(A said weird stuff earlier)Please help me and explain in easy way. Thank you in advance.
Sinatra being big referred to his fame. Another way to become bigger is to become taller by standing on a chair. stuff is a vague word, referring to anything. In this context, it means why did you say that to me? (implying that is was a mean thing to say, and why are you being mean?)
Q:I'm debating on buying a baby bouncer chair for my baby boy who is due in December..but is it worth it or you can use something else..
I wish someone had told me what is needed and what is just wanted , I got a high chair, bouncy chair, swing, basinet , stroller and only used the stroller a couple of times and the other stuff never got used. I carried my son in a sling 24/7 and he slept with me at night. I had a shower chair for him (walmart, like 10 dollars) and he showered with me everyday, when he started walking at 10 months, I started having him walk with me when I went to the store etc., I only started using the stroller at that time and for when he was sleepy and we were out. You really don't need much for a baby. I know with all of the gadgets and gizmos and advertising out there, it's easy to think it's all necessary, that's definately what I thought. :D
Q:Given a weight and the angle of the legs, how do I calculate how much force each leg of a chair supports?I'm kinda-sorta sure of how to do this problem in 2D, but I have no idea how to do it in 3D.
I would need to see the 3D picture to be sure, but..... Assuming the weight is symmetrical about an axis through the chair: Solve it as a 2D problem on a plane passed through the axis of symmetry. Then distribute the weight to the legs on each side of the plane. Example: You are sitting in the chair. You mass is 100 kg (weight: 980 N). The chair has a weight of 20 N. Total Load is 1000 N. The plane splits your body in half (the left half of your body is on the left half of the chair). You solve the moments about the center of gravity for the rear legs and find the rear legs support 750 N ==== Each rear leg supports 750/2 = 375 N This means each front leg supports (1000 - 750)/2 = 125 N
Q:its soo annoying. I can do the baby freeze but when i try to go into a chair freeze i just fall. i try to put my leggs back from a baby freeze into a chair freeze but i just collapse. help?
A chair freeze is where you stab one elbow into your gut and sit sidewards on it, it's very simple and you can start of with using two hands with one to support you, and also don't put one leg over the other till you can balance. But to be honest I can't tell if you're describing a basic chair freeze or an airchair.
Q:I am currently a freshman in high school. I am third chair clarinet in band overall. This is pretty good, and I am expected to do well. The only thing is, I'm not expected to get first chair until my senior year because the 2nd chair is a sophomore (the first chair is moving soon so he's not an issue) and she's expected to get first chair each year. While I do realize being third chair as a freshman is quite good, I don't want to wait until I'm a senior to make first chair. I know that next year there will be a freshman who is quite good (she's in eighth grade and already knows her scales 3 octaves) and may pose as competition. However I don't want to have to think that she is competition. I want to be able to know each time that I will be first chair. I want the sophomore above me to not always expect to be first chair. So my question is, what can I do to ensure that I am first chair? For our auditions we have sight-reading and scales with tone being taken into account considerably.
After being in band for eight years and never striving for higher than third chair I can honestly say this. The only way to get to a higher chair is PRACTICE. A lot of practice. Take your instrument home every night and practice scales and the music your band is currently playing. If you're really dedicated I would suggest spending free time on weekends practicing as well. Find music that you aren't playing also and practice that. The more you know the better. Another pointer is a good one my band director gave me. Practice what you don't know not what you do know. A lot of people get bored with practice and decide to play something they're really good at to appease themselves. That's fine to take a break but jump right back into practicing the things you have difficulty with. Before you know it you'll be able to pull off things you didn't think were within your grasp with ease. Take it from someone who regrets not going beyond third chair. Practice is key. Good luck ;)
Q:hello all. I need a creative way to make car tires into chairs... think its possible?
Maybe cut a quarter of them out, then find some way to secure actual seats and backs of chairs to them. Then add supportive legs. I wish I had a way to visually show you what I mean, but I hope you understand that. If not that way, then perhaps, depending on how big they are, you could eihter cut them in half or leave them whole and put two next to eachother forming a couch and use two more (or two halves) as the back. Either way be sure to secure some sort of padding onto it, because tires arent' the comfiest things to sit on. Good luck! Sounds like a creative plan. If neither way of mine works, try googling it.
Q:I just wanted to see people's opinions on the electric chair and how they feel about it.
I read some history on the creation of the electric chair. In the eighteen hundreds Edison and Westinghouse. were trying to vie for either DC power or AC power to be used for public us. Both built elelctric chairs that were used in prisions at the time. Both were barbaric in how they were used.It was a horrible way to die.It was even worse for the individuals who chose to watch. I feel this is a horrible for your life to end.Even if it is a punishment.I have thought about this indivduals who are slated for execution. should be given five options, for their demise. Not only will this give them time to think about why life has lead them to this. But could possible make individuals who are existing criminals thinks twice before they put them selves in this situation. Also if appeals are limited to one time only.and a time limit of 90 days. for the execution to be carried out. Just a thought.
Q:my chair is going fat (i am sittoing on 2 pillows right now since they are also going flat, but it is annoying to keep moving them back as they slip)
Fat or flat? Look for Upholster in the Yellow pages and ask them
Q:the chair has a back that is hinged and swings up about 8 inches. it is either mahogany or oak and had curved arms

Q:My room includes hot pink, black, gold and a little bit of white. I love diamonds and most of my room is Victorian style. Any ideas about how I can fix this crappy chair?
paint all white, then get a seat cushion that goes with your decor. if you really want to keep the chair. if it was my room i would get rid of the chair and get something else
