Q:I have a computer chair that has been re-covered with normal fabric similar to curtain fabric. Over time stains have appeared on the chair and they have got really dark now and wont come off, the material is a pale biscuit colour so the stains really stand out now. What is the quickest and easiest way of getting rid of them. Thanks to anyone who answers
get a bowl of hot water with some washing up liquid and a dustpan brush and give it a gentle but good scrubbing, make sure you do the whole chair or you will have water marks, if not take it outside and jet it. or maybe get some handwashing powder put it in a bowl of hot water and give it another good scrubbing, all else fails try and fit the chair in the bath and give it a good showering whilst scrubbing it with yet more fairy liquid. that should do it lol x
Q:Hi, I'm wanting to drape a wing-back arm chair with some fabric rather than reupholster it, and I'm not sure how to get the measurements for it. Could someone help me? Thanks!
a fail proof way to get an idea of how much fabric you will need: Take a tablecloth and drape it over the chair. This will give you a feeling of how much fabric you will need. If the tablecloth is too big, buy less fabric than the table cloth measurements and vice versa. I realize this is not a professional way to measure, but for the layman, it is a great way to get the spacial measurement needed.
Q:I don't want to buy one online, I want to get one at Target, Fred Meyer, etc. You know one of those chairs that rock back and forth, rumbles, has surround sound, and plugs into the game system (wii). Preferably under $70. Know where I can get one? Please add a link if you can.
Those gaming chairs are so cheap and they fall apart so quickly that I would not recommend getting one at all. I would actually recommend buying a cheap computer chair and the cheap wal-mart surround sound system and hooking it up underneath. It will give you the same experience but with way more comfort.
Q:I know it's polite for a man to help a lady into her chair (pull the chair out for her and help her push the chair in as she sits down) but is it also good manners for the man to help her OUTof the chair too?In a restaraunt, I saw a man get up from his seat, then walk over to his lady's seat and helped her pull the chair out. She remained seated until he began moving the chair. I watched very closely and she didn't appear to have any heath problems or injuries - she moved very freely and it was just like the sitting down routine, except in reverse. I never saw that before, and I thought it was rather weird. Reminded me of a queen waiting for her servant or something...!
It is just part of old-fashioned chivalry. I agree with Sue, I've seen (a few times) a man who still half-rises when a woman seats herself or gets up from a table. The gentlemen in Pretty Woman did it when they went out to the fancy dinner when she wore the black cocktail dress. Those men are a dying breed, but its refreshing to see every now and then.
Q:I'm a web consultant, and I spend many hours at my computer. At worst, I can spend 18 hours or more if I'm finishing up a large project. This is not part time work for me, it's all I do.Currently I have some chair from Staples that was like $125 and my back is killing me. After less than a year the cushion provides no support whatsoever... I just sink down to the plastic immediately.I'll consider spending whatever to get the right chair, I consider it a semi long term investment. I don't want to spend more than I have to though, so keep that in mind.
The first thing you dont want to do is listen to anyone that suggests Herman Miller is the greatest chair. They are $800+ and i just could never justify paying that much for something that you could find from a less known company with the same features. I would type in ergonomic chairs and branch out from there. Things that would help your back are: Adjustable lumbar support Adjustable arm height on chair Multi-tilter These are features that generally do not come standard on each chair but make a world of difference in being able to adjust to fit you as comfortable as possible. Check out the site below, they have alot of chairs and good information about them. Comparing the same chair at other stores they are generally less money for almost all that ive seen.

Q:I've got a small room and really would love a butterfly chair to relax in (my old one fell apart--literally). I bought one today at Target and it was WAYYYY too small. I want one I can curl up in, like my old one. Any help? Links would be awesome. :)
online, walmart, maybe sams club
Q:i was just curious about the cost.. i do plan on looking in my local phone book for a chair rental company.. but i was just curious about the average cost ?in other places.. that way i can see if i'm getting gipped or something
I rent chairs all the time. In my area (SF Bay Area), white plastic folding chairs are 1.55, wood folding chairs with padded seats are 3.75 and chiavari chairs (a bamboo look) with a seat cushion are 8.75. The delivery is 125.00 IF you can do it ANYTIME on a weekday and have pickup ANYTIME on a weekday. Otherwise, if you're talking about timed delivery and timed, late-night pickup, it's 450.00. Also, here's the doozy: setup and takedown of each chair is 1.75 to 3.00 each, depending on the chair. If you have friends that can do your chair setup and takedown, that will save you a bundle. Do use a bigger, nicer rental company or you may end up with beat-up chairs that have been badly repainted. I know my company isn't the cheapest, but I know they are the only one I can count on for decent products. Good luck!
Q:I'm starting to get into gaming. I'm not looking for a gaming chair, I'm looking for an office chair that's comfy. I have an xbox and I'm getting a desk for Christmas. I want to throw in an office chair too. Since I will be gaming on my desk, I will be sitting for long periods. I currently have this plastic Ikea chair that hurts my back after a while. I'm looking for the chair to be 100 dollars and less. I can't spend too much. I've seen there's mid-back, task chair, and a high executive. The high executive's are very pricey, but they look so comfy. Task chair's just look alright, Idk. Mid-back's look pretty comfy too. Thanks!

Q:I bought my daughter an old beauty salon chair for her room and would like to recover it in a funky fabric to match her room. I need some simple how-tos to get the job done. Any ideas would be very much appreciated since I've never recovered anything before.
Depends on how good your sewing skills are. Take the chair completely apart. Carefully remove the upholstery from each piece of chair to make a pattern for the new fabric. Make the piping, and baste it to one piece. Sew all the fabric pieces together and place each complete section back onto the section of the chair it came from. Staple it to the frame. Mark the screw holes so you'll know where they are. Re-assemble the chair. This is a simple as a simple job gets.
