Q:I want to get a chair that will be comfortable for reading. I want to place this upstairs in my bedroom so the chair can't be very big and heavy. I can't stand reading at my computer desk when I am reading for fun and I don't always want to read on my bed. What do you think I should do? I am kinda thinking about one of the glider rocker chairs but I am not sure.
I'd say comfort is most important. Get yourself a nice beanbag chair and place it in one of the corners in your room. Problem solved. -Amos
Q:It is going to be lounging chair, for T.V. or something, though I am going to glue pieces of styrofoam together, then carve it out...with my *** grove, and maybe a cup holder or something...Though I have questions....1. I know styrofoam is not always going to be the strongest thing, so what should I use to re-enforce the strenght of this chair? Wood, or some sort of plaster?(Did I mention that I wanted to cover it with some sort of hardening agent?)2. What types of insulation should I use? (I was thinking of something that is comfy, though does not have much resestance...like it would embrace the but, not push it back. Possibly foam with an over coating of fluff...or something.)3. Outer fabric, What feels comfortable? Fake leather? or something?...4. What is a cool accesory to a chair(i.e. cup holder, Compass)You don't have to answer all the questions, you can answer one....Though I want some ideas or something...
The fact that most people call it a chair! but if you want we can open a new web site and send messages to people all over the world not to call it a chair anymore. we could even ask the goverment to step in saying that the word chair is very rude and it would be politcally incorrect to use that word ever again. But i can guarentee that someone somewhere would still call it a chair. Thats what makes it a chair!!!
Q:I need a chair or something other in my bedroom to read in.. I've been reading in my bed recently but after reading for 8 hours a day it gives me SERIOUS back problems.
A nice plumpy chair that has reclines the feet up works best for me. If you don't have something like that I would suggest sitting at a table (kitchen counter, dining room table). To make the chair more comfortable use 2 pillows, one to put against the back, one to sit on. If you're sitting up at a counter you might want to put a stepper on the ground under your feet so they don't just dangle. If you want when sitting at a regular table you can either just have your feet on the ground, or what I sometimes like to do is pull up another chair to lay my legs out on.
Q:Lookig for a new desk chair and seen one i like but theres a lot of plastic parts on it mainly the legs. Woundering if its a big deal or just a strong as metal legs ?
I'm sitting on a leather office desk chair that I purchased at Office Depot 10 years ago and have had absolutely no stability problems, breakage or durability problems with the plastic coasters or the the base to which they are attached. The secretary chair which is upholstered is over 15 years old has plastic feet and coasters and hasn't had any issues either. We are very hard on our office furniture and have found plastic to be easy to keep clean and just as durable as metal (which in our case rusted over time on a metal based and castored wingbacked office chair we once had).
Q:i have these wooden chairs that have dried peeling paint i need to get off so i can stain them. there is no varnish or stain i can see, just old paint. Is sanding it off the best way to go? are there sanders small enough to get into the corners and grooves? i am pregnant, so chemicals are not an option. thank you!
Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this, you can have the chairs dipped by a professional stripper, the whole chair is submerged in a solution and comes out clean, usually though this weakens the joints so some minor repairs may need to be done. even with the paint stripped off you will still need to do some sanding. Plus, and this does not always happen but once you stain and apply the topcoat (shellac or polyurethane, etc) some of the stripping chemical agent may still be present in the wood and this topcoat may cause it to leach out and bubble the finish. We've found that washing the stripped piece with lacquer thinner, allowing it to dry then sanding will yield suitable results. It's not that daunting a task and worthwhile in the end.
Q:I have a bouncy chair for each of my twin babies, but it is very basic. There is no toy bar attached. Me and my mum have searched for a attachable toy bar to go on/over their bouncy chairs to entertain them but cannot seem to find one. Anyone got any ideas as to where i would be able to find such a thing? Or even if they exist?
i have bouncer chairs that have them they are fisher price and i think they are about $50 each for the chair and toys, i think walmart, zellers, sears and some other stores that have babies stuff should have them
Q:what is lift chair?
actually it is good question. lift chair is more comfortable to use.To know details that how it is been used so click the flowing link.
Q:Hello,Something freaky is happening to my patio furniture. My building is undergoing pressure washing on the outside, so I brought the chairs inside over the day. They are made of a brownish metal (iron?) and a sort of mesh. So they have spent the day indoors, and I was just taking them outside again, when they started bleeding a bright reddish orange fluid. What can this be? Can rust appear in liquid form?!
this happens to mine also. Ticks me off. The furniture has small holes here and there so I thought rain was getting in. I plugged the holes with silicone calk. Then other holes formed, like rusting through. Chairs are only a year old. Someone explained to me that condensation builds up inside the hollow metal from them getting cooler at night and then warming up in the sun during the day. It's a no win situation. I also hated the little holes because wasps would get in. Won't be buying that kind of furniture ever again.
Q:i want something like this but i think the price is a little high, so where can i find something like this but cheaper?
Well, I think the price is OK, you may just want to save up for it, but I'll still try to help: This style of chair is called a papasan chair, I know that Pier One sells them but they're more expensive than the PBTeen model. Probably the only way to get a papasan chair cheaply is to get a used/second hand one. If you want to get one used, you could try Craigslist for your area. I don't know how old you are, so if you are young *ASK PERMISSION FROM YOUR PARENTS* to look at Craigslist online (there can be bad people online there), and if you ever buy anything online through Craigslist *MAKE SURE* someone goes with you if you go to pick it up. If you get a Pier One or used chair, you could make a slipcover for the cushion (in a fabric like the Dottie chair), but in all honesty I would save your time and trouble and buy the PBTeen one. If you sign up for their emails they may send you a coupon, and/or let you know about sales!! Good luck!
