Q:does anyone know the difference between bathroom rugs to kitchen rugs?
Bath rugs usually have a non-skid coating on the back so they don't slip when they are wet. They can be made of anything...I've had fuzzjy synthetic ones, looped cotton ones, a whole array of materials, but if they were designed for use in the bathroom, they had a non-skid backing on them. Kitchen rugs are often reversible. My favourite are the rag rugs, tightly woven colourful cotton rugs made from twisted rags, often in colour schemes (in my pair, the dominant colour is blue). They are durable, colourful, absorbent, easily washed in the machine, and release soil much better than nappy rugs. And they are dirt cheap...I have a pair in my kitchen that have been in use for more than 10 years and I paid less than $5 each for them in a place like WalMart or a dollar store. They are just now starting to fray a bit!
Q:carpet cleaning?
One thing that always works and is inexpensive as well. Rubbing alcohol. Here's how you do it: Pour and I mean really pour the rubbing alcohol on to the carpet and completely soak the stain. Then fold up a few paper towels and put directly on the stain. Find some books that are really phone books or anything that will cover the stain and let it sit for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, replace the paper towels and do again. Keep doing this until no more stain comes out on to the paper towels. This works, but does take some time. By the way, rubbing alcohol will never hurt the carpet.
Q:how do you get dried candle wax out of a carpet?
Get some good quality plain white paper towels and grab your iron. Put several layers of towels over the wax and iron away. it will take the wax out but if it was a red candle you may still have a light pink stain. I suppose you could try a bit of spray cleaner with bleach IF it is a light colored carpet.
Q:How to replace carpet that is moldy?
you must REPLACE the carpet because mold spores are very dangerous to humans/pets. Spray area down with bleach before laying new carpet. Probably from air conditioning unit (cause of leak).
Q:How do I get black hair dye stain out of carpet?
Some carpet stains can be removed with a paste of 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and 1/4 cup salt or baking soda. Rub into the carpet stain and let dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day. (Always test on an out-of-sight part of the carpet first).
Q:how do remove wax from my carpet?
Scrape away as much wax as you can. Place a sheet of butcher paper, glossy side up, or a portion of a brown paper bag on top of the wax. Press the tip of a warm iron gently over the affected area until the wax melts and attaches to the paper. Lift the paper from the carpet. Dab a small amount of denatured alcohol onto the stain if any candle dye is left on the carpet. Sponge with water.
Q:How do you remove spackle from carpet?
Vaccum the carpet first and then spray resolve (its a carpet cleaner and you can buy it at grocery markets) spray on it. Let it set for just a little while then blot it out. Do not rub as you would rub it more into the carpet. I would use paper towels (white preferred) to use to blot. Good Luck!
Q:What carpet is good for office?
It depends on what kind of office it is and what circumstance it is.
Q:Someone soiled my rug!?
are you near sears. you might want to call them to the task for you. check site for more info
Q:Is this carpet allowance reasonable?
On the low side but a normal builders allowance. When shopping for carpet, you ll be buying or comparing that price to an s/f price. This is the way carpet must be sold. The builders price break down to 1.77$ a s/f. You ll be able to get a cheap bedroom carpet for that if you look hard but none with any quality will be found. Get a carpet with a stain protector, you don t necessarily need Staimaster, although a good stain blocker, your paying some for the name. Also shop for a carpet with anti matte, anti crush. This won t matte down and show walk patterns. This differs from an anti wear warranty. Edit to your add on questions.. To start to get into any quality at all you ll have to double that amount to around 30.$ a s/y or 3.5/4$ a s/f.. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
