Q:1985 Dodge D-250 starter wiring ?
Sounds like it may have a temporarily weak battery. Hook it up to a charger overnight or get a jump off someone. If manual transmission, you could try a push start and just let the alternator charge the battery while you drive around.
Q:Why do thin wires melt and thick wires glow? HELP?
Everything has a temperature at which it will melt. Every conductor also has a resistance, which is just like it sounds, a wire sort of resists the electricity passing through it by heating itself up. If a wire's resistance causes it to heat up so much that it melts, either the wire is too thin, or there is too much current passing through it, or both. A thicker wire can handle the same current without heating up so much that it melts. Sorry I don't have any formulas for you, but I think you should understand it now.
Q:what do the wire colors mean for a clarion PN-2218i car radio?
on the wires it should tell you want the wires are four you should have a red wire black wire.the red is live wire and the back wire is earth wire.and the four you got left is speaker wires
Q:What is the difference between carbon fiber and wire heating?
The biggest characteristic of carbon fiber heating is that the electromagnetic radiation is very small. It is smaller than the electromagnetic shielding of the wire, and is harmless to the human body
Q:HOW DO YOU CHECK THE OHMS ON A WIRE(OHM OUT A WIRE)?
This is true for most wires of practical sizes in devices like fitness bikes or treadmills. If you have a multimeter, you will find there is a setting for reading resistance, which is marked in Ohms. If you set the meter for that setting, you will notice that when you touch the red and black probes together, the meter will read ZERO ohms or close to it. There is a little knob somewhere to set it to zero. Then you can read a wire by touching the probes to the opposite ends of the wire. If the wire is sound, the reading will again be zero (equivalent to touching the probes together). If you don't get zero, the wire may be damaged or corroded. Watch for corrosion, which will give you a high-resistance reading. If the wire is one conductor in a cable with numerous wires in it, you will have to look for the opposite ends of the same conductor. They will probably be color coded, which makes it easier. Good luck.
Q:Resistivity of wire in context of home?
Greater wire length will certainly give you a higher resistance. Since heat is measured in watts, and watts (W) =I^2R, where I=Current and R= resistance, then if you double the resistance of a wire (by making it twice as long) you also double the ammount of watts lost in the wire. Since watts equates to heat, this ammount of heat will make the wire hotter. If you use an extension lead, and wind it round a drum, it can get very hot indeed.
Q:220 wiring?
You will need 4 wires to meet current electrical codes..2 black or red wires. (ungrounded conductors). 1 white wire. (neutral or grounded conductor). 1 green insulated or bare copper wire. (equipment ground). Both ungrounded conductors on a 2-pole, 30 amp breaker or fuse. A 30 amp, 250 volt rated receptacle is also required..The dryer will work with 3 wires, but is not up to code, because of bonding/grounding issues
Q:What color is a common wire ?
Common Wire Light Switch
Q:Are WIRES expensive? ........?
Copper wire is probably the most expensive, but you only need 3 feet of it. Best to buy it by the foot and not by the reel. Home Depot has it. Or you can find it online (OKorder for example) as scrap wire but then you've got wait time, shipping, etc. If you know the gauge (thickness) you need, Home Depot will tell you on the phone how much it would be for 3 ft.
Q:Wrong plug wires? Whats the difference between brands?
cheap wires for cheap cars. keep them clean and away from metal and heat as best you can and they'll do the job
