Q:I have a minivan with a flat 5 pin wiring connecter at back. We bought an old utility trailer with no wiring. It has the two rear lights, one on each side with 2 wires sticking out of each. We got the flat 5 pin trailer connector to connect to the van and bought a long piece of cable which has the white, brown, green and yellow wires in it. Where do I connect what? I have the wire that connects to the van with the four colours and 2 wires coming out of each light for the trailer. Thanks!
Your five wire setup is the same as a four wire setup with an additional wire for power (if it is even hooked up on the vehicle, which I have seen some installed and not used before) The white wire is Chassis Ground (also known as 'NEG' or '-') The green wire is for the Right Side Turn and Stop. The yellow wire is for the Left Side Turn and Stop. The brown wire is for Running/Marker lights. If your trailer's chassis is made of metal, then connect the white wire to it. Check the trailers taillight bulbs to see if they have one or two filaments. They should have two. One is for the dimmer running lights, and one is for the brighter brake and turn lights. Good luck with your wiring adventure!
Q:Who makes the best spark plug wires? i think the ones on my car are crap...they are Mag*star O.E. replacements, and they suck. What do you recomend? Its an 89 thunderbird
Motorcraft from Ford. They are made specifically for your car.

Q:What is a wire transfer? Is it when you can send money from one bank to another diferrent bank far away?
A wire transfer is the electronic transfer of funds from one financial institution (i.e. bank) to another financial institution (i.e. another bank).
Q:What good would it do to change my spark plugs and wires would it be a good idea for a 86 year of a car they've never been changed before I was wondering would it help the car out thanks for the help
yes, i would change spark plugs and wires. the spark plugs will fire better an make you get better fuel milage, and same with the wires. the wires after so much age depending on how close the wires are can have small arcs go between the wires and cause miss firing/pre ignition making it harder on the engine.
Q:Are those coils of wires in an electric fan magnetic?
coils of wires always are magnetic (if there flows current trough them). the only use of such a coils besides as a magnet would be to deminish fluctuations, like in the fat piece of long usb cables. Else, its always magnetic
Q:what gauge wires should i use for my 12'' alpine typr r SWR-1242D?
For the speaker wire going from the amp to the speaker? Try to stay above 16 gauge, I use 12 gauge as over-kill. It costs like 12 cents more per foot and is completely worth it. For the power wire going from the battery to the amp? Use no thinner than 4 gauge power and ground wire assuming your only pushing a single Type-R. Good Luck!
Q:electrical wire prices
It's merely a coincidence.. The price of OIL and the price of COPPER have been in flux for years... Precisely why in america they want to get rid of the penny... it will soon cost more than a penny to make them. Just imagine if they were solid copper like the old wheat backs.
Q:what does a #12 copper wire look like and waht does a #14 wire look like if you got pictures post a link thanks
To most of us, they look identical. However, #12 is slightly thicker and heavier than #14. In a home, #12 is often used for electrical outlets, #14 for lighting circuits (lights/switches). To view/feel the difference, visit a local Ace/Lowes/HomeDepot as a visual picture--unless magnified--will not capture the difference.
Q:I wired an outdoor lamp-post. I tested it before wiring it to the fuse box...and if I touch the lamp-post I feel the current (a slight shock). I will be using a ground fault breaker....so I assume if I wire it to that I am going to loose the connection. Any thoughts on what is wrong?
In addition to the answer Paul gave, check the wiring that the white wire is the neutral or common wire and that it goes to the shell side of the lamp holder. A few years ago, I had a similar problem, when all of the checks were made, the panel was wired with the black wires on the neutral buss. Hence all of the devices were wired backwards. Call a qualified professional electrician to do the work.
