Q:My wardrobe has just collapsed and I need to install a new one as soon as possible. I am just placing a pole from either end of the wardrobe but need help installing it. Do I need to use special nails to fix wood to plasterboard (the wood will be on top and what I nail onto the existing plasterboard) because I have a feeling normal nails won't work in plasterboard. Q:The top room in my house has got a ceiling in pretty bad shape. The house roof is ok, but over time the pressure has created a myriad of small cracks. Filling them up one by one is a huge job, so I have two choices: 1) apply a new plasterboard to the ceiling. 2) re-do the ceiling, take off the old one and put a new one.1) sounds an easier solution, but the builder wants to do 2) to avoid cracks reappearing. What would you recommend?: If your house is old, like mine, then the roof beams may not be substantial and are more prone to bending under weight. That will just contribute to the plaster cracking so option 2 would be better. The upside is if you put in big enough beams you would be able to floor the attic for storage. If the existing beams are man enough then screw new plasterboard onto beams without removing existing plaster.

Place a fan facing toward the ceiling for about a week or as long as it takes to make sure the ceiling is completely dry. 2. Paint the stained area with Killz. (Not sure of the spelling but it's a water stain retardant) Let it dry overnight, regardless of what the directions say telling you it's dry in less than two hours. 3. Paint the surface again with Killz 24 hours later. 4. Wait 24 hours to see if the stain is visible. If it is, paint another coat of Killz. 5. If the stain is undetectable, wait 48 hours and paint the ceiling with with the color of your choice. A second coat of paint may be required.

Q:and a/v components..if not then why not?: If your building code allows romex, use that as your power cord. If the a/v components are low voltage, that would be fine.

Q:vapour control plasterboardextra durable plasterboard...?: you would not require vapour control plasterboard as this is only really required where there is a build up of steam , i would go for extra durable.
