Therefore, I am thinking to see if it is possible to connect a my surround speakers to the front speakers output jack behind my amplifier. As such, 2 wires will be sharing one output. Will it damage my speakers or amplifier? - I strongly recommend that you don't do that. Believe it or not, this is akin to taking the lid off the receiver and reconnecting the wires you find inside - not stable, could ruin your system. However, there may be an easier and better solution. Many surround processors have a mode called PARTY (or some such name, check your manual) that sends full frequency stereo to the rear speakers, and often mono to the center speaker. This should be the effect you are looking for, and when you want to go back to watching a movie you can just change the surround mode!

- For $85 bucks and for a small room, I suggest you get PC 5.1 surround speakers and try to install it around your room's wall or ceiling however you still have to tackle some connection issues to your audio/video source.

- First: Be sure that your amp can handle the power demand. Underpowering speakers is the most common way they are damaged. You can connect both pairs of speakers directly to the amp just following regular positive/negative inputs -or- you can connect the second speaker on each side to the first in the chain. Just insert the leads from the second speaker into the first speaker. Electrically this is the same setup. Parallel. The setup you described in your question is indeed series.

- It could be a number of things, you could have blown them to the point that they don't work, but it really sounds like a wiring issue. You might have some wires disconnected at a certain point along the line. I think so investigation into the issue as far as tearing the car apart is necessary b/c it's hard to diagnose with just the aforementioned info. The fact that one tweeter works and nothing else is strange. Good luck!

- Without listening to these speakers by yourself, it is impossible to determine which speaker has better sound quality. Without question, the 2.1 system will produce more bass (larger driver 5.25) but whether it produces accurate bass is a whole other story. I took a look at their specifications and did not find any information about their sensitivities. Therefore, it is impossible to determine which is louder. What we know is that it is more likely that the Genius SP-HF1800A Speaker System likely produces better sound quality because they have a tweeter and midrange compared to the other which only has one driver.
