Q:I have a floor rug - it's about 5 ft * 3 - and I don't know how to clean it. I know I can like shake it out, but can I use carpet cleaner on it? Thanks and I apologize for the lame question. :)
Take it to a professional laundry.
Q:Our living room carpets really stained, and no matter what we use to clean it...It doesnt work. Even if professionals do it it looks like nothing helped. Any suggestions on gettin it clean?
umm new carpets arent that expensive and i would get a stain master carpet and rent a carpet cleaner once every three months.
Q:Hi I have a mobile and for some reason something was leaking and it caused our hall way carpet and our two bedroom carpet to get wet and now its moldy. Idk where the leak came from. But it's pretty bad. So how do I go about fixing it? Do I pay someone to do it or can me and my family do it. I believe we have taken care of the leak. Now we gotta fix carpet. Thanks.
you must REPLACE the carpet because mold spores are very dangerous to humans/pets. Spray area down with bleach before laying new carpet. Probably from air conditioning unit (cause of leak).
Q:how can you take out a red stain from the carpet?
Shaving cream works wonders for carpet stains.
Q:gotta 79 Camaro, the carpet is f**k'd up so i wanna replace it but not fully sure how to install it or wat materials i need. Help?
Changing the carpet is the easy part. Removing all that's holding it in is the hard part. You can google for automotive carpet and order it online. You can expect to pay 120-175 bucks for a carpet depending on who you order it from. (Try JC Whitney) Order the carpet that comes with the padding attached to it. Once you get the carpet, the hard part begins. Take the seats out, and unbolt the seat belts from the floor. Remove the center console and any trim around the edges such as the sill plates that hold the carpet in. Take care in any wiring you encounter, remember where it is. Once everything holding down the edges of the carpet have been removed, the carpet comes out pretty easy. Vacuum up any loose debris then install the new carpet with padding and put everything back in that you took out. An experienced installer would take 3-4 hours since the center console is the hardest part. If you have never attempted this before, expect a full day at best, probably two to complete the job. No other materials are needed unless there are pieces of carpet that are glued to the kick panels in the front. Then a can of 3M spray adhesive would cover that.
Q:Our family just moved into an apartment with 4 year old carpet (the manager verified the installation date). We plan on moving in 4 years when my husband is done with medical school. Therefore, the carpet would be 8 years old. We would like to pay to replace the carpeting, but the manager is claiming that the carpeting we are looking at isn't quot;commercial gradequot; and that it won't last after we move. The manager also claims that the carpeting that is currently installed could potentially last another 4-8 years. The current rule here is that if you damage the carpet and it must be replaced within the first 7 years, you must pay x/7 of the value. My question is: If we trash our carpet and move out in 4 years, they won't be able to charge us. Why can't I just replace it now with carpeting that I like? Does this sound right? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
They will be able to charge you because the carpet you are installing is not commercial grade? If you replace it, are you really going to live in that SAME apartment? It's not worth it to replace someone else's place. Save yourself the money and be happy. Put rugs over it or something that you like, don't replace the carpet!
Q:Hi ,where can i buy cheap carpet , the one like in Walmart ( 60-70 dollar . Is there any website selling like those carpets .Pls advice
If you want a cheap carpet, I wouln't bother with an online source. By the time you paid shipping, your price would be increased considerably. Try a carpet store that sells room-sized remnants. You may be able to find a piece large enough to lay wall-to-wall, or you could check into having it bound. Do you have Big Lots in your area? I'd check there, and also the classified ads in your paper. Sometimes people change out their carpet and sell large pieces. Do you have a Habitat for Humanity thrift store in your area? Check that out.
Q:How can you get carpets to smell good and get the odor out without using a shampooer or any kind of electric carpet cleaner?ive been told baking soda but it didnt work...
The answer is real simple...you can't get them clean and deodorized without using a shampooer or any kind of electric carpet cleaner I was a cleaning professional for over a decade so you can either take my word for it, or start wearing a clothes pin on your nose all the time you're home. And it's very likely the rinky-dink carpet cleaners you rent won't work either, but you could try one before calling in professional carpet cleaners who use heavy-duty machines to clean carpets with. Maybe the sources I've provided will help. In the second link click on the subject titles to read the full article. Hope this helps.
Q:Does a rug doctor perform well on your carpet?
Yes, the rug doctor works great! Some think stains reappear quickly but some stains may need extra elbow greace depending on what it is and how long it's been left on the carpet. Some think the carpet gets dirty again quicker, but that's because your not used to seeing clean carpet - it's been so long since they were clean. Bottom line, the rug doctor works great, and some stains just can't be removed. If you have stains get the rug doctor pre treat solutions for your need and follow the directions. You'll be glad you saved the money by doing it this way.
Q:Or do I take it to a cleaners?
Thanks. I'll try that.
