- Q:So, I m moving to an apartment that has totally outdated carpet. I want to change it, but obviously I can t being that it is an apartment I m renting. Are there any other options, other than buying a giant rug? Also, what are carpet tiles? I ve heard that they re cheaper than actual carpet, but do they require installation? Are they permanent? DIY people, help!!

- I have a sheepskin rug that I have washed, never thought about using Woolite however I am sure that works great :). Since it is a hair like fur I actually have used a little shampoo in the washer with it. It worked just fine, I was a bit nervous to put the rug in the dryer so i just let if hang for a while to air dry and also use a brush to bring the life back into the fur.

I downloaded a small penny christmas tree design last winter and i think it might have been on the debbie mum site. just put penny rug patterns into a web search and you will surely find some. lots of the penny rug designs also were edged in tongue shaped pieces, these were often called pen wipers, they would make a penny rug for the top of a desk with the tongues all around it and the master of the house had a handy pen wiper in the tongues, when they got too messy they could be replaced. enjoy your hunt.

- About $200. But the carpet MUST pass the pinch test. Pinch the carpet you want with your thumb and forefinger. Try to pull out the pile. Look at your fingers. If there is more than 1 or 2 fibers, do not buy the carpet. You will be cursed with dust, dust, dust, and floating fibers which will coat everything in the house. I have seen very expensive carper that I pinched and came away with 20 or 30 fibers. That junk will never vacuum out! It will be a mess forever.

You soak the area, and then use towels to mop up after the recommended time period. Enzymes take time to work, so often one doesn't allow the time necessary. It can take several weeks, which is why they often have an orange scent, since cats hate that scent and stay away from that area while the enzymes work. If it gets into the flooring, you really have to seal the flooring with something like Kilz, so try soaking the area first, and that may solve the problem enough for you to get by.

- I think that this would be fine - its repeating the round theme in another part of the room - tho I would not have the same colours but rather make them tone with each other say one patterned and the other plain etc
