Q:so funny story haha. i was at softball practice last night at an indoor facility. The ground is made of an astroturf- carpet type material. the drill was to practice sliding on a piece of cardboard. i however slid a bit too early and skinned my thigh on the carpet/astroturf stuff. Now i have a giant burn thing about the size of my fist on my right thigh. It oozes constantly (which is extremely gross!) Last night i slept with it uncovered hoping it would dry up a bit, but it didn't. i taped a piece of medical gauze over it today for school, but it oozed right through! Also, when i went to take it off, the gauze was stuck right to it, and i had to yank it off hard, and it hurt soooo badd. i really don't want to have to do it again! Can someone please tell me how to make the pain go away (it burns!), make it dry up, and stop oozing? I've skinned myself before, but this is the worst one i've ever had.
Apply Cold Water to the Rug Burn You can treat a rug burn the same way you'd treat other first degree burns. The first step to treating a rug burn is to hold the injured area under cool, running water for about ten or even twenty minutes. Do not place ice directly on a rug burn. This could actually cause more damage to the injured area. Keep the Rug Burn Dry After removing the injured area from the water, gently but thoroughly dry the area with something soft and gentle, like a cotton ball. You want to keep a rug burn dry at all times. So, after baths and showers, give make sure the rug burn is thoroughly dry. Clothes Can Irritate a Rug Burn When fabric rubs against a rug burn, it can cause pain an irritation. It can also slow down the healing process, something you definitely don't want. So, if possible, try to wear clothes that won't rub against a rug burn. For example, if the rug burn is on your leg, wear skirts or shorts whenever possible. If the rug burn is on your arm, wear short sleeved shirts instead of long sleeved shirts. Making minor changes in the way you dress while your rug burn heals can make a world of difference. What Not to Put on a Rug Burn There are some things you definitely don't want to put on a rug burn, because they'd cause more harm than good. Some things you should avoid putting on the area are butter, lotions, powders (like baby powder), perfumes, sunscreen, alcohol, and baby oil. All of these things could cause irritation, and make the rug burn worse, and make it take longer to heal.
Q:i have large area rugs on my carpet and the are moving and sliding all around. which tape have you had the best experience with? thanks
Im okorder ... Measure the rug and purchase a same-sized non-slip carpet pad online or from a home improvement store. Place it beneath the rug to secure it in place. Cut squares or strips from a roll of double-sided tape, and attach them around the perimeter of the underside of the rug. Remove the paper backing from each strip, set the rug in place, and push around the edges of the rug to secure it to the carpet.
Q:Hey, I cant afford an area rug to put under my full, do you guys know of anything I could do to make up for this? I know multiple rugs would be stupid. The reason I want an area rug so bad is because my room is tile.
There okorder /
Q:I've been window shopping for a rug online :) Has anyone got a Caribu at all? what do you think of the quality? Any rug that I like is atleast $300... but thats a bit pricey. I just cant believe the jump in price of everything since I last had a horse. She had a good quality lined canvas rug that I paid no more than $100 brand new and it lasted her yrs and yrs I think it was a Weatherbeeta and I sure wish I still had it now!
I like the Mother Nature brand of rug. It's rain resistant, costs nothing, never wears out, self-adjusts according to the weather, and if it gets torn, it repairs itself. Every one is custom fit to the horse from birth, there are no straps to break, no hair loss due to rubbing, it's the perfect protection!
Q:Wet Basement Rug Mystery
that is spoke of as hydrostatic rigidity. you're able to hire a basement waterproofing corporation, they in many situations all have a life-time garauntee. they have some exceptionally hi rigidity sales strategies yet on average the fee could be around 75.00 in line with linear foot for an unfinished basement and as much as a hundred and twenty.00/ linear foot for an entire basmt. you're able to do the job your self while you're above reachable. no longer a role for the weekend warrior. Q:I have really sensitive feet and need really good carpet for my floors. What do I need to look for when I go shopping for some? thanks
WELL IF YOU DO GO CARPET SHOPPING GET A DARK COLORS AND FIND THE BEST ONE THAT YOU REALLY LIKE AND PLUS MAYBE YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT IT .
Q:i have a little dog and i'm still training her so i have a carpet cleaner spray i use on her areas that she had an accident on. Well anyway she did her thing inside instead of outside and i grabbed the tilex tile cleaner with bleach instead of the carpet cleaner and now my carpet is bleached in 2 areas! I am moving apartments in a month and i am afraid i wont get my deposit back. Is there any carpet dye or somthing i could do???
Dying bleach stains in a carpet can be done, but that is something usually best left to a professional. Try contacting local flooring companies, or check your local registry to see if you have someone in your area that does 'carpet repair, or dye'. If the bleach stains aren't very large, then it might be possible to 'swap' a portion of the carpet out of a closet, and patch it. Again, this isn't something I would recommend for a novice. It does take a bit of skill to make a patch that blends in so it isn't visible. Using carpet dye, or patching a carpet, are two things that can very easily end up with more problems than you started with, hehe. In a worst case scenario, the carpet could be replaced.. so it would be a toss up, as to which would be more expensive, losing the deposit, or installing new carpet. Before replacing it, I'd suggest you double check with the apartment management. Many apartment complexes will keep at least a portion of the deposit, for 'cleaning' anyway, so there is a chance you won't get your full deposit back, even if you leave it with absolutely no damage at all. The only way around it would be to hire a professional cleaning company yourself, and that usually costs more than letting the apartment management have their maintenance/cleaning employees do the work. I would recommend that, if you cannot find someone to repair the carpet, that you get some estimates on replacing it. Then, if the apartment management tries to keep the entire deposit, you make them break it down by cost (in writing). If their cost for carpet replacement is higher than your estimates, you've got something you can use to barter with, if it is worth your time. Good Luck
Q:I am going to pay to have my carpets cleaned. What is your opinion on the best way/method and service? (USA)
Hi If you were looking to have your whole carpet cleaned. I would recommend a Chem Dry Carpet Cleaning. As it is a low moister cleaning system that uses a product called “The Natural”, which is safe for kids and pets.
Q:What if I went to Home Depot and bought a sheet of rubber cut to just a bit less than 8' x 10' and then a piece of felt the same size - glue them together and pop the area rug on top?Would that work?
Hi Blue Eyed Homo, I am a flooring associate that works at The Home Depot, and I know that some rug pads seem to be expensive, especially in your size. I've worked in other departments and been with the company for almost 10 years and I have yet to see a sheet of rubber that will sell in the store other than pan liner for tubs that would work in your situation. Also, you won't find at our store pieces of felt in that size. Plus, felt just won't be able to grip the rug properly especially if you have a hardwood floor. Did you check around your local stores flooring department? I think I may have a less expensive solution for you. Carpet padding, not rug pad, but the kind ppl place under their carpets. It may not look pretty but its made to not be seen anyway and it works great for big area rugs your size. Home Depot sells carpet pad in pre-cut 6ft. by 9ft. rolls or have your flooring associate there cut out a size for you. Bottom line....the carpet pad will be way less expensive than the rug pads we sell, and you'll still have a slip resistant surface for your new area rug for years to come. Hope this helps, aboveaveragejoe
Q:What is a carpet ironing belt?
Carpet hot belt is a kind of advanced imported adhesive material composite, stable performance, safety non-toxic, strong adhesive force, high temperature resistance, flexibility, not easy to crack materials.
