- Q:How to adjust valves on Caterpillar C15 on-highway engine?
- c15 don't need to remove jakes just back off valve actuators and jakes before adjusting valves they need to be set with overhead to but you cant adjust till valves are adjusted first. I think valve actuators are 20 and 3o for jake but mite want to check first

- are you sure its the egr valves going bad or not the egr solenoids causing you to get the code,that will make it appear that an egr has gone bad when it really hasn't,good luck.

- If my reasoning is correct.. the answer is all to obvious.. the oil spot saturation is caused by none other than Loki, god of mischief and mayhem. If you could kindly point me in the direction of my half-brother I would be more than happy to hit him with my big dumb hammer. -THOR

- I changed my vavle cover gasket over the weekend and my check engine light had been on....it is now off. That is the only repairs I have done. I was informed it could be my catalytic convertor causing the check engine light so i have ordered that. However with the light off.....idk lol

- for really bad ones you can cut diagonally across the snout of the hose connector with a hacksaw until you just break thru. slow and gentle is the key here. this method removes even the most stubborn hoses.

- You egr valve will be located on the exhaust or have a metal tube running from the exhaust the other side of it will be mounted on or near the intake. you can also look at the vacuum routing label on the hood if it is vaccum controlled it will be listed on the diagram
- Q:Any way to fix a leaky CPVC valve?
- Turn off the main water to your house. Turn that valve to open. Then tighen the nut on it (slightly), see if the valve will close , if yes; then tighten it a little more, then see if the valve will close. If yes - that should do it. If the nut is so tight that the valve will not close, then loosen the nut just a tad. That should do it, ......... now, turn the valve off. Turn back on the main water to your house -- and see if that works.
- Q:Aortic valve question?
- This is a routine, well established procedure. The incidence of major complications are less than 4%. There are two kinds of artificial Heart Valves. One is mechanical, and the other is tissue valve. The mechanical valve requires the person to be on life long anti-coagulation therapy. This also requires periodic check on the persons pro thrombin time. Based on this, the anti-coaglation dose will be adjusted. The problem with anti-coagulation is that it may lead to bleeding complications. The tissue valve is made from the tissues of a bovine or porcine heart. The tissue is denatured to ensure that the valve is not rejected as a foreign tissue. (This is not a problem with mechanical valves.) Being made of tissue, these valves do not allow clots to form, which means that anti-coagulation after a short initial period is not required. This is a major advantage, especially for women, who may have some earlier bleeding problems. Then why are mechanical valves used at all? Being made from non-living denatured tissue, tissue valves cannot repair themselves. They also tend to get calcified in younger people with more calcium activity. They also have a shorter life than mechanical valves. Surgeons tend to favour mechanical valves for younger people (whose life expectancy is higher), and the tissue valve for the older, as such people may already have some bleeding problems, the valve's durability is not critical and the patient has lower calcium activity. These are general considerations. Only a surgeon armed with the full test results, and a knowledge of the patient history, who can advise the patient on what is the best option in each case. To reiterate, AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement, not my initials) is a routine procedure and recovery tends to be uneventful. Wish you all the best, and as uneventful a recovery as possible.
