Depend on the wood and finish. Some woods ,like cherry, will darken with the sun. Under the rug will stay light. I never recommend rubber backed rugs on hardwood, never, never. The rubber may discolor the wood forever. Its OK to use a regular area rug, with a cloth back and a rug hold underlay.

Q:I got a puppy and a kitten at basically the same time, so needless to say, the carpets need to be deorderized so they will not be tempted to keep peeing on them again.I heard you needed to basically douse it in Natures Miracle, let that dry and then sprinkle baking soda on it for 2 days then vacuum up. But when i sprayed it down the carpet got ripply and did not dry flat for some reason... it seems like it is ruined!What do i do now with this carpet? is there a way to make it flat again? and how do i deodorize the rest of them in the house?Please help

once I had a cat she was started to peed on the carpet. Somebody told me put some black pepper on the spot and she will not pee there anymore. It was true but she find an other spot. So it did notwork. We had to send the carpet to a professional cleaner. They cleaned the smell and the stain out. I have a few friends, they do the same, thats the best what was work for as. Try to get the puppy trainer pad. Its about 20 square , you put it down and didnt let the pee go thru. Wish you the best!

Q:you know the little rugs that kind of curve around the base of your toilet and a little in front?i left it outside and it stormed overnight and it blew off of the deck into some nastiness on the ground and its all soaking wet.can i just throw it in the washer? i don't want to ruin the stuff on the underside, like have it all fall off you know?haha i hope you understand what i'm talking about:/ thanks=)

I also put mine on the delicate cycle because heavy agitation seems to degenerate the rubber backing faster.

Q:I just refinished our hard wood floor and want to put down an area rug. Will the new woven backings hurt the finish?

If the rug stays put it will not hurt the floor. However, unless the finish you applied has UV protection, the uncovered part of your floor may fade faster.

Q:I painted my living room and I covered my carpet the best I could; however, there's always that little blotch of paint that somehow slips through. I tried Goof Off paint remover and I think it sucks. Any good recommendations?

it okorder / the only problem is if you use one product, it could prevent the next attempt from being successful because the chemical reactions may make it colorfast.

Q:We moved into a new home, and until we change the carpet out, is there a temporary fix you can use to hide unsightly bleach stains on carpeting?

I wish!!!! I spilled bleach on my dark blue carpet in my bathroom and I tried alot, even bought some fabric dye. Not much you can do except throw a rug down over it until you get some new carpet.

Q:I just want a reasonably cheap, peach or mid-cream shaggy rug, but nowhere seems to do one! Peachy pink would be best, perhaps round? Help!

their prices seem a little higher but when you factor in the size you want and the fact that shipping would be outrageous because of their weight... it kinda works out better than driving over God's creation looking for one.

Q:I am trying to be as 'green' as possible while decorating my house. In addition, I love the look of textured, natural stuff. I looked at the sisal and bamboo rugs, but with small children on the floor all the time - they just are too rough. Is there anything else out there?

I'm sure there are many other places with other sizes and colors as well.
