- Q:The power cable to my mom's laptop keeps making a buzzing sound that I've never heard it make. I've asked my dad, but he said it was normal. I was relieved until the cable made that noise after I unplugged it. What can it be? It is the power cable itself not the laptop.
- The buzzing noise is not that of a Laptop its rather that of the Power adapter of the Laptop so there is nothing to worry about it you laptop is as good as it can be. But i would suggest not to use that adapter for a longer time because it may cause trouble in voltage fluctuations .

- As the resistivity of copper and aluminum are different,to have the the same resistance,the sections are different. The losses per cable are Ri^2 = 0.15*500*50^2 ( just for the sake of completness,the power transmission lines have three cables) If you take lenght 1km you have to use0.15 ohm,which is the same as using 500km and R =75 ohm Be careful to use the same units of lenght in resistivity and distance. You are on the right track
- Q:Hi,I have just bought a jasper xbox and i know this as it says ''12V, 12,1A'' on the back yet my power cable says ''12V, 16,5A''.I thought that the jasper xbox requires a specific power connector which wont fit the other types. Mine seems to fit fine, so have i got something wrong here? Cheers
- i don't know if somethings wrong with your xbox or power brick but i can tell u tho, if u use a Xenon power brick (12V,16,5A) on a jasper xbox u will run into a problem later on, for it will overheat and the CPU and GPU will warp and pull there self away from the motherboard, if u have ever heard of the towel trick( wrapping your xbox in a towel so it will overheat and the solder will pool up and re-solder the CPU/GPU back in place) that's where it come from, i would buy a jasper power brick if i were u (12V, 12,1A).
- Q:Physically, I want to know what the cable looks like around the part that plugs into the laptop. I have a kink in the cable around that point, but don't know if cutting it and soldering is an option, depending on how complicated that part of the cable is. The rest of the cable is really simple (positive and negative) but does it get complex at the end?Note: I'm only talking about the cable, not the laptop jack itself. - It needs 150w through the 8 pin connector and 75w through the 6 pin connector, in addition to the 75w it draws through the PCI bus. You can see the connectors in pictures of the card. These are standard connectors on an ATX12V v2.2 power supply, but you will need to make sure the power supply says 2 x 6+2-Pin for PCI Express power connectors. One or two six-pin connectors alone isn't sufficient.
- Q:why is power cable not recognized by notebook?
- This most likely isn't a windows 7 problem at all. It's more likely there would be some damage to the internals of your power cable at some place. Usually if there is, it's in the connecting end or the power conversion box. I would try a replacement cable first if you can. If you don't' have one, take it to a pc shop and see if they can use a test adaptor. If theirs works, it's the adaptor. If theirs doesn't, it's then more likely the power port on your pc is damaged.

- Trace the cord with your hand, if it goes up to the power supply box way up. its a power cord. and the rest are data cord

- Sounds like you have a good battery. Is the battery plugged in when you try to connect with the cord? Does your battery charge when the cable is plugged in? If not, you may need a new power cable. Use a VOM (VOLT OHM METER) on it and do a continuity check to ensure connection is good. If that's not the problem, it may be the DC Plugin port.
