- Hello. If you don't really have Auto electrical or mechanical experience then it's probably best if you don't attempt this kind of installation. You could receive all types of advice from other members on this site but, even with the most comprehensive detailed instructions and the best intentions, without experience you'll find it very difficult. If your new car is of similar genre, then it's a fair bet that the alarm and CDL unit will fit as most aftermarket units are interchangable. Just check with your insurer first to make sure that the catergorisation of that alarm type satisfies with their policy, then go find a qualified, reputable auto electrician or specialist alarm installation company for a quote. Try to ask for their advise first on the compatabilty of using the system on your new car though. The last thing you'll want is to get your car booked in only to find that after they've spent labour on removing the alarm from your old car, then to advise you that it won't fit the new one. You'd obviously be pretty brassed off having being given a bill for labour charges and still not having an alarm or CDL unit. Lastly don't go for the cheap option. Some folk will give you their keenest estimates but could provide a real bodge and cause you endless headaches and problems later on. Recommendation is, without sounding 'patronising' the best bet. - Nissan does not have a factory Alarm on any of their veichles. they have what is called Keyless entry and theft deterant chip keys and immoblizer on ignition cylinder. If you have an alarm, it was either added by the dealer prior to sale or added by an aftermarket alarm company. As far as the Nissan keyless entry all it does is allow you to unlock the doors and pop open the truck and to flash headlights and honk horn for panic or to find the car in a parking lot when you forgot where you parked. good luck

- Alarms usually last for a long time, If they no longer work it may be something simple like a flat battery on your remote, or a blown fuse, call your local mechanic and ask them it shouldn't cost. and if your alarm is no longer working it Will not affect the running of your car in anyway. - I have an alarm clock made by Emerson Research. It's been the best alarm clock I've ever had. You can set two different alarms to different days, times, and wake up mode. I have one alarm set on weekdays to play the radio at 6:30, and the other uses the normal buzzer on weekends at 8:00. Oh, and if you lose power, it resets itself. Very nice.

- when an alarm is going off 'by itself' its almost always caused by a loose or misadjusted door switch or trunk switch or hood switch (if it has a hood switch). the alarm senses that someone is trying to break into the car by monitoring the light circuits in the car. If the dome light, trunk light or underhood light (on some cars) comes on when the alarm is armed then the alarm 'thinks' someone has opened a door or the trunk or the hood to break into the car. usually the alarm that goes off by itself is doing so because a vibration, usually from a passing truck or, here in california, from a tremor causes to the door , hood or trunk lid to move a bit and that in turn breaks contact with the light switch and sets the alarm off. have the door switches checked and replaced as necessary. its almost always a door switch. check the truck and hood switches as well, but those are less likely causes. it think you'll find a door switch is loose or a door is not properly adjusted. hope that helps

- It's normal for alarm clocks with moving parts to tick. Try putting it on top of a folded towel or cloth, which may absorb some of the sound without making it harder to hear the alarm. If that doesn't help, there really isn't anything you can do except move it further away from you, or put something on top of it to muffle it..
