Q:How can i disable a crimestopper alarm system. It is really annoying when it goes off, and it is starting to short out and just go off for no apparent reason. I want it off. Is it getting it‘s power from the fuse box, or somewhere else? Please help.
I have installed these before, You can disconnect either the positive or negative and thus cut polarity but then you are not going to be able to start your car. Look under your dash above your feet, You will see a little module you can pull the in line fuses thus eliminating electrical current.More than likely they are tapped into 12v+ on your main ignition harness and not your fuse box. But most important you will find two wire a White wire and a White w/red stripe, follow these leads. I guarantee they trace back to a cut starter wire. In order for your car to start, you have to put them two wires back together or cut them out and put your original starter wire back together. I highly recommend soldering your connection. Personally I would ensure that the ground is good and turn up the sensitivity on the shock sensor. generally the sensor is zip tied to the steering column. If you have any question e-mail me.I was a service technician at ziebart for 3 years and installed many aftermarket alarms remote starters.
Q:Last weekend I changed the battery in my 96 Chevy Tahoe. The car alarm began going off. In a panic, I cut the wires to the speaker. I‘m concerned that my alarm has been going off for a week (only we can‘t hear it.) The indicator light on the dash is blinking, and now the doors lock immediately after closing.I‘m affraid I‘ve either drained my new battery, or the alarm is preventing me from starting the Tahoe. Initially after putting in the battery, the truck would start. But I haven‘t tried to start it since last weekend until today, and it wouldn‘t start. What should I do.
It probably is going off, disconnecting a battery with an alarm system is a way theives use so the car wont make sound when they steal it( its a good thing) but the smarter thing was not to cut the wire, you should try to find the fuse for the security system entirely, or take it to a mechanic to see what they can do, and explain the problem as you did here.
Q:I just installed a car alarm in my Chevrolet Impala. I think it might have something to do with the drivers door since the dashboard light doesn‘t light up when its open. Let me know what i have to replace uld it be a sensor or the door latch?
Because you have a car alarm. The only thing they do is make noise. Also, it is unnerving and disturbing how easily cqar theives can defeat most any alarm or antitheft. Cadillac Escalade is most stolen SUV in country due to carjackings and people leaving the spare key in the car. OnStar does not help stop the theft of a car. By the time it gets turned on, its ripped out anyway. They know exactly where everything is. Get a gun, it will work better. 2nd amendment in effect. :)
Q:Today my car alarm stopped working. My remote unlocks and pops my trunk still so its not the battery. It just wont lock or turn on the alarm. Is it possible that someone could disconnect something so i cannot turn the alarm on so they can come steal it later? Does anyone know what i should do?
I agree with both of the answers above.
Q:the remote of my car alarm is dead, battries are ok, what could have gone wrong?
Most car alarms I've seen are two types. One has a keypad where you have 30 seconds after entering the vehicle to enter the proper code. The other is the one you're describing, where you must use the remote from outside the car to avoid the alarm going off. In your case, you have a few options. 1) This may seem strange, but it works. If your problem is that the remote gets wet, put it in a Ziploc bag. This should protect it from shorting out the circuit inside with water, and you don't need to worry. 2) On the off chance that the battery in the remote runs out, you will have to use your key. The alarm will go off. It's OK. You can explain the situation to someone if they ask. What you need to check for is the valet switch. Check your manual for this, but I assume you know where it is and this is what you're referring to when you say disconnect the alarm. It's often in the glove box or near your knee under the steering wheel (off to the side on the wall near the stereo maybe?) Usually, you can put your key in the ignition, switch it to on (don't start the car, it's the setting right before start), then flip the valet switch. Your alarm will stop and you can then start and drive the car. If you want to set the alarm again, just flip the valet switch once more before turning the car off. Note that you can use this method anytime (or if using a Ziploc bag turns you off and the remote gets wet), just that the alarm going off all the time might get annoying. 3) You of course can disconnect the alarm, but you know that and that defeats the purpose of having one anyway.
Q:every time i try to find out about how to handle my car alarm, i get no answers why?
Well most cars now days have a factory installed security system.and they are suppose to install an aftermarket alarm by-pass module to disengauge the factory system when installing an after market.so it is not normal for both security systems to be active.but in no way is it impossible that someone did an incorrect install on the after market one.if they are both still active it would be a constant conflict of one setting off the other from the designed sensors that activate them under normal sircumstances.also it is possible that the o.e.m. by-pass module may have been installed but is now defective causing mustiple crossed signals from after market alarm to factory installed.sounds like you need some hands on diagnostics for your vehicle to be for sure.
Q:if the bateries in my remote alarm thing on my keychain died, (i dont know what they are really called) i would unlock my car with the key. but the car alarm will go off. so how would i turn the alarm off within the car? do i put the keys in the ignition? or push the unlock button? or what? i have a 2006 nissan altima. any help would be appreciated. thanks!
Taking a bulldozer and pushing the car into the river usually does the trick, as well.
Q:is there any good car alarm out there on the market that you recommend?? and how much is it?
Yes he is supposed to have the strenght of a spider. Some spiders can lift or pull like 80 times thier own weight.
Q:I have a 1999 Altima I just bought and I need to reset the alram because the original owners said the alram kept going off and I think I need it back on to use the remote to unlock the doors. I bought a new remote, but it does not work. The red LED stays on in the car all the time. It does not flash like the newer cars do. I do not know if it is suppose to flash or not. Bottom line, I just want the remote to unlock the doors. I really do not care about the alarm, unless, it has to be on to use the remote. I have the instructions for the new remote, but it will not get pass the first step and I think the alarm thing is my problem. I am sure the remote is OK. Does anyone know the answer to these questions? Thanks all!
no don,t flush it ! just drop the pan and change the fluid and filter ! your vehicle takes dextron transmission fluid !
Q:I have a 2006 Honda Accord. For some reason the alarm would just go off and I won't be able to shut it off. I would actually have to disconnect the car battery to get it to stop. Any ideas on a solution or how to disable the alarm all together? Thanks,
in the journey that your alarm is a sturdy form it would desire to have a attempt gadget (once you turn on the key it is going to flash somewhat some situations to show which sensor is firing) examine the handbook or bypass to their internet website for diagnostics.
