Q:my husbands car remote stopped working, i guess it got wet or something. whenever we lock the car with the remote we can‘t open the car with the key because then the alarm will go off and the engine locks or something because the key won‘t turn so we can turn on the car. how can i deactivate the alarm and what will i need?99 saturn sl1 it‘s a stock alarm and already tried changing the remote battery
Dont buy motorcycles from Mainland China!!! No where does it say that this is street legal in CA either.
Q:I have a mazda 6 2004, and the car alarm is absolutely annoying. I would park on the street and when a truck or large vehicle would drive by, it would trigger the alarm because of the vibration. I removed the Horn Relay from the fuse box and that did the trick, but also took out my steering wheel horn. Would I have to go to a mazda dealership?
You can plug the main wire that hooks up to the ignition. If you don't know where that is, go to a local mechanic, or a friend that knows a lot about cars.
Q:I have an 01 mercury cougar with both the stock alarm and an aftermarket alarm. I don‘t know the what kind the aftermarket one is all I know is it has an LED in the car and is integrated with the ford alarm since I have looked everywhere in the car and all I see is ford security. Anyways the stock alarm is still working perfect but the aftermarket one isn‘t working. The LED keeps flashing 2 flashes really fast and none of the sensors work. The tilt sensor, shock sensor and unlocking the door with the key no longer set the alarm off. Please if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Sorry I don‘t know the name of the alarm system.
it might be a couple of things ! it could be a bad idle air control sensor or the throttle body needs to be cleaned out ! get some throttle body cleaner and spray up inside the throttle body to get rid of the carbon !
Q:Almost every night, I hear a chirping noise that keeps me up and the chirping goes on for hours at a time. I saw a white bird flying around making this noise and watched it fly into the neighbor‘s palm tree. I think it was a barn owl but am not completely sure. How can I get rid of this thing?
Likely a Mocking Bird, they imitate other sounds!
Q:Oh Honda_guy i need ya again.or anyone who knows about the 98 honda accord, 6 cyl, ex. It was at least 26 degrees last night and my son woke me up to this alarming sound outside which seemed to be my horn/alarm just sounding off like some kind of siren. I didnt know what to do I thought someone was breaking in. Anyway, I took the battery apart and it stopped. I tried to put the key and turning thing and it didnt work at all. When I put my battery back on, will it sound off again? Thanks for all of your answers.
its not unusual for things to contract in very cold weather and for contacts in circuits to break contact. Here's what probably happened--when the temperature dropped the metal in the car contracts ever so slightly. the alarm system works off of switches on the doors, the hood and the trunk lid. when it gets cold, the gap between the switches and the car metal increases. any kind of vibration such as that from a truck or another car going by can cause the switch to move and set off the alarm. iThe alarm shut off when you disconnected the because there is no power to the horn. Usually you have to shut the alarm off to stop it. so if you connect the battery and the alarm is going off, then use the remote for your alarm to shut it off, or if its a non-honda alarm, use the switch inside the car. On the honda alarms, the keyless entry alarm is turned off by unlocking the doors with the remote. I would suggest you do this--open the hood so that you can get to the battery. then lock the car doors with the key. connect the battery. if the horn sounds, use the remote to open the doors and re-lock them. that should arm the alarm and stop it from sounding. then use the remote to open the doors. if that doesn't work, then its not a honda alarm and you'll have to find the switch inside the car to turn it off. hope that helps
Q:Is it better to buy an alarm system and have a shop install it for me? or is it better if the shop supplies all the alarm equipment? I found a shop that installs it for 85$/hr. Is that a good price? Thanks.
Let the shop supply the alarm system. That way they are installing what they are familiar with. $85.00/hr is not badit is reasonable, another reason to let the shop install their equipment, it takes less time.
Q:Ok a couple days ago my car was brutally broken in to. They pulled the window frame about 4-5inches off the top of the car, busted my drivers window, chips in paint from crowbar or whatever they used, I mean a real big deal. They stole nothing so I have the feeling they just wanted to hurt my baby. The stock alarm did NOT GO OFF. It‘s a 2001 Saab 9-3 which is not a cheap car and you‘d expect the alarm to go off with such damage and force being done. So that‘s it I want an aftermarket one so I can go brutally break into their head when somebody tries to do this to my car again. I was thinking the Viper 5002. Opinions please?
i dont think of the alarms deter the jackers. although, a protection equipment that wont enable the vehicle be all started and not making use of a key is a incredibly stable deterent. possibly some day interior the destiny they'll layout an alarm that immediately calls the police if the vehicle is tampered with.
Q:whats a good car alarm that I can get for under 300 dollars?
i got a python installed + keyless entry for 168$
Q:I have a 98 mazda protege and every time I stick my key in the ignition. I pull the key out and it keeps honking and eventually stops. Someone help me
you need to change the battery out in the remote.
Q:I‘m looking for one of those pager systems that alert you when your car alarm has gone off. You can‘t always hear your car alarm indoors, but the pager would let you know it was YOUR car alarm going off. What name brands are avail? And what kinds of stores would sell them?I‘m looking to get it for my father-in-law as a birthday gift, is this something that would need to be installed? I don‘t know the make/model of his current car.
You can definitely find it at any custom car audio shop. My b/f almost got one for 200 bucks, not sure on brands though.
