Q:I'm attempting to connect my SATA power cable into the SATA power slot on my Asus DVD burner, but the cable doesn't seem to fit properly. It looks as if it would fit, but it doesn't. Should I be looking into purchasing a different SATA power cable that actually fits this DVD burner? Or perhaps purchase a different DVD burner?
Did you try flipping the cable around? They are notched, so they only go in one way. If it doesn't fit then, it's either damaged, or not a true SATA connector. This is odd. I've never seen a non-standard SATA connector/cable before. Sometimes they're a bit tough to fit in. If the notch is lined up correctly, give it a bit more elbow grease, but use common sense in doing so. They're tough to get in sometimes. EDIT: The drive is in fact a true SATA drive, so it's either a weird cable, damage, or you not doing something right. Also, you do know the difference between the data and power cables, right? Just making sure. Not trying to insult.
Q:I would love to know exactly what the following connectors are for and what they are:
1,2,3 Are SATA Connectors. 4 is Serial Port Connector 5,8,9 are PCI Connectors 6 is AGP Card Slot 7 is Riser Card Slot 10 is Serial Port Connector 11 IDE Slot
Q:i neeed to chacge the batteries
huh? Batteries in the USB connector? Are you sure about that? Every other USB device actually draws its power from the computer it is plugged into. I'd be very sure there actually are batteries in it before popping anything open.
Q:Hey, fellow gamers, I really need your help. I'm currently playing Pokemon Diamond Version, and I can't access Mystery Gifts and the like.I can access the though, if only I had the elusive Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. Sadly, I haven't had any luck whatsoever in finding a store that has it, authentically that is. So I'd like to know where you can buy it, regardless of whatever Nintendo branch or store you know, that's fine- but preferably perhaps near New York or San Francisco. Please help! Thank you so much if you do, remember Ten Points to Best Answer! :)
I hate to say it, but Nintendo has discontinued the Wi-Fi USB Connector. Your best bet is to either find one used or buy a regular wireless router. If all you need is Wi-Fi, any wireless router will do the job.
Q:I understand that telephone splice connectors are designed to splice 2 or more phone lines. But can they be used to splice speaker wires? If so, would it make a good connection?
i have installed car stereos with scotchloks before with out any negative effects
Q:I have got a pin stuck in my VGA connector. I can't open it up and it's pretty jammed. Any ideas? Thanks!
Depends on how far its jammed in, VGA pins are generally a pretty loose ish fit, try some very fine nose Plyers and a scapel or a sharp craft knife, even a pair of fine tweezers would probably get it out. If its snapped flush to the base of the connector, the only thing you could try is pressing the molex package back to reveal the the sockets, then squeeze, lastly on the pcb side of the plug try applying some pressure to the back of the socket where there should be what looks like som L shaped pins soldered to the pcb, if all fails get a new GPU, Ash x
Q:I wasn't sure how to phrase this so it was hard to search. Sorry if it's been asked before. I'm wondering: When I connect the speaker wire/cable to my M-Audio speakers, it works, but only if I twist the cable just right. So it's fine, but if I move the speaker and it jostles the cable connection, then the sound cuts or gets really quiet.Should I replace the female connectors? I see this happens on a lot of electronic devices, so I figure it's a good question to ask.
Actually, with what you are saying, I would think this is actually a break in the wire being plugged in and not the female connectors at all. Here's why: connect the speaker wire/cable to my M-Audio speakers, it works, but only if I twist the cable just right. So it's fine, but if I move the speaker and it jostles the cable connection, then the sound cuts or gets really quiet As you rotate the male connector, you are also gently twisting the cable until the broken wire is making a decent contact. Move the speaker or cable and it moves the broken wire ends apart, ruining the connection. Try this and see if I'm right. Plug it in, but instead of twisting the connector, patiently and gently wiggle various parts of the cable. Eventually you will find one section that makes and breaks the connection consistently, I'm thinking. If you can find the break down to a few inches, you can cut out the bad section if there is enough slack and re-solder the ends being sure to insulate them properly. Good luck! I hope you find the problem.
Q:If you have for example four #12 wires to connect together, it's a pain to twist them together. I've seen the push pin type of connectors with four slots. They seem very convenient. For you licensed electricians out there, are they code in a typical residential junction box?
As far as I know, the connector type you mention is not approved by code. If push-pin connectors are the type I'm thinking of, they are not up to the task. There is not enough contact area between the wire and the contact for a good, high-current connection. I suggest you stay with the wire nuts. They are proven to be reliable when installed properly.
Q:i need to know,my lecturer told me it means a connect that can only be inserted in 1 way only.but being a sound engineering course i don't get what cable wouldn't be polarized.the XLR/cannon connector is polarized but what about a normal jack it can only be inserted one way
It means the plug has no backwards. Most of the connectors used in pro-audio (that I seen), are polarized by nature. That includes TRS, XLR, Speakon, and AC power (twist-lock and two and more prong straight blade.)
Q:can i buy any wifi usb connector for the nintendo wii. i do not want to buy the ninteno one as this is way over priced
you can, but you should probably go to the nintendo site to see which routers are compatible or not.
