The answer is simple, real performance requires rear wheel or all wheel drive. Front wheel drive is less labor intensive to assemble in the factory. That is the only advantage. For the young man and the snow theory. Snow driving is about traction, nothing else. Drag racing is about traction, nothing else. Physics say very simply, when accelerating weight transfer is to the rear wheels. Not the front. Fact that the front wheels are under power and turning eliminates snow piling up in front of the tires. Poor drives will do better in snow with front wheel drive, good drivers (snow proficient) do as well or better with rear wheel drive. Remember Weight Transfer. Like I said, front wheel drive is easier to produce. It has NOTHING to do with better, safer or any other er you can think of save cheaper. I will give the manufacturers credit, they have managed to put a few horsepower in a front wheel drive car. Apparently they have finally gotten a handle on the torque steering that plagued all the little bitty bite size stuff that used to come in from Japan.

- I am in the auto industry and I'm amazed at the answers I've read! ABS is an acronym for Anti-lock Braking System. An ABS has sensors on either two or four wheels. When you apply the brakes, the sensors detect a wheel lock and will quickly release braking pressure, then return braking pressure to normal. This keeps the car from skidding, which keeps you in control of the car. There are a few different ABS used by auto manufacturers. The least expensive to use is the rear wheel ABS, which keeps only the rear wheels from locking. This is used on larger trucks, where locking the rear is very unsafe. Some cars have a three channel ABS. Think of each channel as an ABS. Each of the two front wheels has their own channel and both of the rear wheels are on one channel (three channels). The Infiniti Coupe has a four channel system. Each wheel has its own ABS, so four wheels four channels. This is the best ABS available, since each wheel can have the ABS work independent of what the other wheels are doing. This also decreases the stopping distance and increases the braking power. - it depends on the kind, mountain bike wheels and bmx wheels come in different amounts of spokes, the more there are generally the stronger it is. Bmx are generally stronger however because the smaller diameter makes them harder to bend/put out of true

- Orangoutang wheels are great for sliding! I have a pair of 86a yellow Orangatang In-Heats on my Loaded Dervish and couldn't ask for a better set of sliding wheels. You might also want to look into the orange In-heats, I think they are 84a but they seem to be very popular in a lot of sliding videos.
