- Q: I'm a large woman and have to use a lot of deodorant - its just a fact of life. But some of my shirts have gotten a really bad deodorant stain that I cannot get out. The only shirts that do this are about 90% polyester and 10% nylon. What I think is weird is that it doesn't happen on any of my other shirts, and if it does it washes out. It seems to be really caked on. I have tried every way of scrubbing that I can think of.Any ideas?
- Oxyclean. Soak them overnight.
- Q: My son had thrush and he was chewing on unwashable toys before we figured it out. We took them away about 3 weeks ago and have been sanitizing plastic toys on a daily basis since then. But can we give those cloth toys back without further treatment? some have batteries inside or are unwashable for other reasons.
- The breastfeeding article says that, Towels and clothing are among the surfaces that are at high risk of harboring candida. A study (see NCBI link) looking at the length of time fungal spores could exist on a variety of fabrics used in hospitals found that Candida (the yeast that causes thrush) survived for an average of 5 days after inoculation, and lasted longer on synthetic materials (polyethylene, polyurethane, spandex, polyester) than cotton or fabrics that were a mixture of natural and synthetic fibers. But I am sure three weeks is more than enough time for all the Candida to die off since the longest surviving Candida survived for eighteen days according to the article this site is referencing.
- Q: any home remidies for getting hot pink sharpie out of a white skirt- other than stain remover? anything work??
- I think you're screwed. I am the mistress of stains, as a thrift shopper and sewer I've agressively experimented with all sorts of stain removers on all sorts of fabrics. Sharpies are so permanent I actually use them for decorating clothing, cloth shoes and fabrics. If the skirt has any polyester in it, toss it, you'll never be able to help it. If it's all cotton and a true white white you can try dabbing it with a q-tip dipped in a 1-3 bleach and water solution to see if that helps - but it probably won't. As for actual stain removers, my all purpose favorite it Shout, but I don't think that will help you either. You could also consider dying the whole skirt pink or some other color darker than the stain - but only if it's a natural fiber.
- Q: where can you buy rope to make rope halters, I believe its yacht rope but I need lime green and pink and different colors like that
- check under trunk lid
- Q: Is it made of glass? Why is it called fiberglass?
- Made of glass.yes, sort of ! Resin (usually Polyester, but can be epoxy) with layers of fiberglass (very fine glass fibers either wolven into a cloth or a matt fabric, like felt. Layer after layer with resin saturating the glass cloth, the resin polyerizes, (turns very hard) and the fiberglass is formed.a very tough, hard material. This can be free formed, but is usually made in molds.
- Q: How do you plant turf insulation on the roof?
- The working face carefully clean up the construction, must ensure that the base firmware is no loosening, no corrosion, no oil, no dust, no water, keep it clean. 2, the roof of the loose firmware must be replaced or reinforced. 3, for the base surface has rust, need to polish rust, make it appear metal color, and then besmear a layer of anticorrosive coating. 4, the base oil and dust, need to clean water. 5, determine the need to do waterproof parts and the width of waterproof layer, and cut the corresponding width of reinforced polyester cloth.
- Q: which is better in absorbing (oil specifically) ? what are their differences? thanks in advance
- cheese cloth polyester is a synthetic [usually in the nylon Group ] its base is oil
- Q: What kind of socks / shoes (formal) should be purchased primarily, to avoid sweat and odour. in terms of material and how to recognize it ? Should it be good for 100%cotton socks or is 70% cotton and 30% polyster good ? How about shoes (leather or other etc). I generally pick up shoes without laces
- I have an infection on my foot, so the doctors simply told me to wear 100% cotton socks to absorb the sweat, which means less odour on the foot. They also told me to wear shoes with airholes, so my feet can get air. So 100% cotton socks is probably the best, as polyester doesn't provide the same absorption as does cotton. Simply go for shoes with airholes, I really doubt the material matters much.
