Q:Cardboard applicators v. Plastic?
Plastic applicators are good when you're first starting out because I find they slide in easier but honestly if you've had some practice and you're comfortable with them, you won't really notice a difference. Cardboard, plastic, doesn't matter. You'll be fine :)
Q:how did the term 'plastic' start?
I think it really predates that movie. I am OLD and I have heard it being used for a long time. Myself, I prefer the term tupperware to describe them -- been using THAT one since my husband left me in 1978, to describe his new wife!
Q:What are biodegradable plastics made of?
Yes you are correct biodegradable plastics are made up of starch and not only corn starches. This is actually made because if at all we throw it here and there its becomes degradable without becoming a pollutant. It is not made commercial because creating starch inserting it in the plastics is not so easy. Give all you can to save the environment!!!!!
Q:Alcohol turned clear plastic foggy white, What should I do?
may be it has reacted with the outer coating of the plastic.u can use acetone for this purpose.
Q:Are .2g bbs plastic or metal?
Plastic =D A gun will shoot both, it's just the FPS that's affected. .2g BBs are generally more accurate, but with a shorter range. Which is best will depend on what gun you're using. As a general rule, an airsoft gun should never be firing above 350 FPS, and the lightest ammo that will keep it below this is best
Q:Help! Burnt plastic on burner!?
Let the burner cool completely. Then try to lift the plastic off it. If it won't come off, warm up the burner slightly, then shut the heat off and try to lift up the plastic again. Sometimes, you can get all or a certain amount of the plastic off this way. You may have to turn the burner on high to burn off the rest. Keep wiping off the melted plastic with a wet cloth and it should be free of plastic after a few wipes. Watch out for fire; open the windows for this procedure.
Q:singapore going plastic free?
to keep Singapore keep clean. use own bag . you can ministry of environment of singapore
Q:what are the compounds of plastic?
There are all kinds of different materials lumped under the generic heading of plastics. The variations run into hundreds, perhaps even thousands of compounds! For example, there's nylon. The most familiar form, nylon 66, is a copolymer of adipic acid or adipoyl chloride and hexamethylene diamine. But I can substitue various hydrocarbon chains in those two components to make nylon 55, nylon 65, nylon 48, nylon 83, etc. Then there are the families of polyaramid polymers, and polyester polymers, and polycarbonates, and . . . . Nobody will ever be able to give you an exhaustive list here. Try looking up some books on polymer chemistry at your library.
Q:Project on invention of plastic...need a slogan to advertise plastic?
Plastic, Killing the earth ever so gently. Plastic answered the question; Now how can we mess this planet up even more?
Q:How to Tie Dye Plastic?
It wouldn't really be tie dye since the dyes used are fiber reactive (only adhere to plant based fibers like cotton) and since the patterns are achieved by bunching and tying the yarn with string or rubber bands. If you want to try for a similar effect, you might try spinning the plastic and drizzling the paint on as it spins. I don't know, maybe you could find an old 33 or 45 rpm turn table at a garage sale. The paint you use would depend on the type of plastic you want to paint. Krylon makes a paint that adheres to most plastics. You might also look at paint for models (like model airplanes), if your project isn't too big. The paint will probably need to be thinned a little if you want to try the spinning technique so it will spread easily with centripetal force.
