- Required conditions for equilibrium (Other wise the scaffold is moving) Sum of forces = 0 Sum of Torques = 0 Sum of Forces Painter: 800 N DOWN Scaffold: 100 N Down Sum of tensions in chains = 800 + 100 = 900 N UP Sum of Torques (Pick one end, it does not matter which. I choose the Left end) Torque = Force * Lever arm Painter is 3.0 meters from Left end Tp = 800 N * 3.00 m = 2,400 N-m CW (Clockwise) Center of gravity is at the center of the scaffold or 4/2 = 2 meters from the Left enf Ts = 100 * 2 = 200 N-m CW This means that the chain on the Right end must supply 2400 + 200 = 2600 N-m CCW Tc = Fc * 4.00 m 2600 = Fc * 4 Fc= 650 N UP Total need up is 900 N====> 900 - 650 = 250 N in Left chain QED
- Q: I'm getting one on Saturday, I already have double lobe piercings in each ear, and a flesh tunnel in my right, but i've heard cartiliage piercings hurt alot more than a normal lobe one?
- I had mine done 2 days ago and honestly, no one actually believes me when I say this, but it didn't hurt at all. I think you need to go to a skilled piercer because some piercers take so long to get on to doing the second hole, that by the time they do it all the blood has rushed to your ear and is causing you pain. After your ear will feel very warm, this is normal.

- Some people's anatomy is not proper for industrial piercings. The size of your ear might probably won't matter but other factors can.

- I've passed out getting shots before! Almost to the point where I had a seizure. And I got mine done, and I thought I was going to pass out again! But my lady was really nice. It really doesn't feel like anything more than a lobe piercing, but you feel a bit of a pinch the second time it goes through. Nothing more! You'll be fine. - Q: i know they are meant to be done as one piercing and with one bar to reduce the risk of them not aligning properly but is it possible to have it done as one piercing and then replacing the bar with two separate ones after it has partially healed. is there still a risk? also, how low down and at what angle should the bar be?thanks x
- They can be done as two separate piercings, and it is up to the piercer and the shape of your ear to decide if something like that will be done. However, I would not recommend it, because even if it is partially healed, putting two separate earrings in can still misalign the piercing when you go to put the bar back in later. I would recommend keeping the bar in, it's a guaranteed way to make your piercing work out. Besides, once you get used to the bar, you won't even know you have it in! Much easier than keeping track of two separate earrings and making sure they still align months down the road. As for the angle, it depends on your preference and what is able to be done due to the shape of your ear. Some people want theirs straight across, others want a much steeper angle. It all depends on preference and shape of ear. Hope this helps, good luck!

- Didn't hurt that much. The only part that sucks is the fact that you get done with the first hole...and you think to yourself it hurt but was it wasn't that bad. Then you realize wow he's not done he still has to do the second one. Before you know it your done. BTW i love my industrial...i was looking at it this morning and thinking about how much i love and i got it like almost 2 yrs ago

- Barbed wire matches would probably be too violent for casual viewers, turning most of them off to the product. Scaffold matches usually take a huge toll on the wrestlers, especially on those who actually take the fall off of the scaffold. Besides, scaffold matches are crap anyway.

- your body wont reject it cuz its cartilage and it wont reject. its just sore becuase you just go a while ago so it will hurt of a couple of weeks
