Q:How do you rate steel?
Grade 440C is one of the highest strength stainless steels. It is also very wear resistant. Good for use as ball bearings and other high wear applications. 400C has the highest carbon content of the 440 steels. 440A and 440B are identical but have lower carbon contents and have lower strengths and higher corrosion.
Q:is a 1962 steel penny worth anything?
Don't know that they're worth a whole lot at this time, but hold on to them. They may be at some point, and what's the loss if you keep them? May be worth something to the kids or grandkids?
Q:Is EN10025 S355JR weathering steel?
Is bether to use this one below! ASTM A588/A588M. Standard Specification for High-Strength Low-Alloy Structural Steel with 50 ksi [345 MPa] Minimum Yield Point , Weather Resistant
Q:Consider an experiment in which an aluminum soft drink can and a steel soup can are left outside for a few da?
I'd expect appearance of reddish dots or stains of rust on steel, while aluminium should stay virtually unchanged. Explanation: Both materials oxidize in natural environment because of atmospheric moist, but in very different ways. As for steel, oxidation begins as reddish dots of rust which grow and become stains. Oxidation then progresses in depth causing decay of material, compromising its strength and structural integrity.
Q:Can carbon steel be solution annealed?
No. Carbon steel has two different crystal structures, FCC and BCC , depending on the temperature. when you heat steel up and then quench it, it locks the crystal structure into the BCC form. this makes it hard. whereas precipitation hardened austentic stainlesses remain BCC regardless of the temp, so the hardness change is not a function of thermally induced strain. you can anneal carbon steel but the thermal profile is closer to the precipitation profile of PH stainlesses than it is to the Solution annealing profile.
Q:Steel Fabrication?
Your question covers a VERY broad area. This link should help you out, you will still have numerous other places you can look but this will cover your basics.
Q:Steel I-beam for header?
Probably the reason some contractors don't like this idea is that your new built-up beam, being only 6 tall, is not going to allow the joists above to attach effectively. The triple microlam with steel plates is sooooooo overkill in strength, but doesn't have the height to allow the floor joists to proberly attach. Your span is not so great that a built-up beam wouldn't work great. Assuming that your second floor joists are 2 x 10, I would use 2- 2 x 10 with 1/2 plywood sandwiched between. This is all that you really need.
Q:Alumnium Vs. Steel?
I would stick with what was on the bike steal front/rear and same chain size. I'm not crazy about changing the gearing, but it's definately important to stick to the stock stuff. steal lasts longer and a stock size chain is likely to last longer. I got 25.5k miles out of my stock chain/sprockets on my RC51. I went with stock gearing vortex steel front and JT steel rear and the top 530 EK chain. I expect that I will get another 25k miles before the set is changed again. I'm so used to the tall first gear, and don't need quicker accelleration. I also don't want to mess up the displayed road speed and recorded miles.
Q:What elements are steel guitar strings made of?
Steel is usually mainly made up of Iron (Fe) element, but it can also include Carbon (C) for a stronger steel or Nickel (Ni) for stainless steel.
Q:Steel Clutch Vs. Transmission?
i own a repair shop, and i can tell you ,part of his problem is probably the installation part of it,and secondly what he,s using is made for racing, not street driving that's probably the second part of it,i have built a few of those transmissions, and they usually don't wipe the transmission out when they go,id say a lot of his,is in the work ,or who did it there's no way to prevent this, other than to build the transmission, and use it for what it was intended to be used for, good luck,i hope this help,s.
