- Q: How can you cover ugly wall tiles??
- just tear them off and out up some wall paper, if you cannot do that for whatever reason jst put some your fav posters on the wall to cover them up
- Q: Just started tiling my tub surround and I have two very similar layouts graphed up. The actual colors of the tile and listello will be different than the ones shown in the pictures, so don‘t look at the computerized colors since they aren‘t accurate. The layout however, is pretty darn close to what I am planning on doing.
- In any tile job, if it doesn't end at a wall you should use a cap tile like in the first picture or a bullnose, whichever fits your particular tile layout. The both have one rounded edge that dies down to the adjoining wall and finishes the job off. - yes you can tile over the sheet rock, first put a coat of bonding agent on the wall, then use mastic to hold the tile on, as for the wall tile on the floor, it's probably going to crack after a short time.
- Q: I was using a steam mop and it started getting very hot and tripping the breaker system. electrician told me there was too many amps (?) for the small electrical cord to handle. He said most of the steam mops can be potentialy dangerous for this reason. My outlets and breaker system have been fine since I stopped using the mop.But now, it is very difficult to keep the tile floors clean. Any suggestions?

- if you are talking about stick on vinyl tiles then yes. Ceramic tiles, no, unless you put something on it to level out all the grout seams. Seems to me it would be easier to get the tile up and start at the bottom. It might also cause your floor level to be higher than in adjoining rooms, never a good look.
- Q: I‘m trying to tile a map using swing (JPanel and JFrame) but don‘t know where to start. Ideally the map would end up looking like pokemon or 2D zelda games, where there is an invisible, underlying grid, and the person occupies one spot at a time. - That's the most efficient way to do it. You use math to calculate positions, so the tiles are virtual. Unless you really need to draw tiles with boundaries, don't show them (like the original Warcraft game). Perform all of your calculations like movement and clicks-to-tile conversions based on pixel location. This is far more efficient that trying to do it with lots of actual Java subpanels merged together. But, note that it's a lot of work and you have to carefully work out your calculations to make sure your clicks are aligned correctly. One mistake I made with a hex map once was I used doubles and I casted them to integers too early, and the slight different (by losing percentage) threw all my calculations off slightly. The trick is to create your background image tiles so that they blend seamlessly together on all sides. That will take a LOT of effort.

- There are many different things to put as a floor. the most natural for a grown leopard gecko is sand.you should ask at your local pet store or just look at a book on bedding for leopard geckos. If you would like, you can also get a carpet for lizards only (they sell different size carpets for different sized tanks). I have never heard of tiles and floors for them, but how long have you had it like that? is it as simple to clean as sand? i personally think it should be all sand when they are grown.... but research best bedding for them. - this is really just an area question. If it helps you to see it, grab a piece of graph paper. Each sqare represents one till. Mark of 18 tiles in one direction and 15 in the other. Complete the rectangle. Then, shade in the other 2 food wide border. That two tiles in each direction around the outside. Shade the other border. Those are your green tiles. What's the length and width of the inner (white tiles)? Find the area of the whole floor: 18 ft x 15 ft. = 270 tiles Find the area of the white part (unshaded center tiles). (18-2(2))(15-2(2)) = 116 tiles The area of the green part is the area of whole floor - area of white part o= area green part. Since the tiles are 1ft^2 the number of tiles is the same as the area in feet.
