Q: How do plastic sheets compare to HDPE sheets?
Plastic sheets refer to a broad category that includes various types of materials, while HDPE (high-density polyethylene) sheets specifically refer to a type of plastic sheet. HDPE sheets are known for their exceptional strength, durability, and resistance to chemicals, making them a popular choice for applications requiring robust and long-lasting materials. So, when comparing plastic sheets to HDPE sheets, it's important to consider that HDPE sheets offer superior performance and specific qualities that make them stand out in terms of strength and chemical resistance.
Q: Like the clear plastic used in packaging, and on kids toys and stuff.
What for? Are you going to be taking a big sheet on them?
Q: I know you can get them at Michaels, but I am in the middle of composing an email right now and wanted to google a photo of one to place in the email and I can't seem to find one by searching for: those plastic crochet sheet thingsas my key words :)
Plastic canvas.
Q: Acrylic plate and plastic plate how to distinguish?
Compared with the traditional ceramic materials, in addition to acrylic high brightness incomparable, has the following advantages: good toughness, not easy to damage; repair is strong, as long as you can with a soft foam dipped in toothpaste will wipe a new sanitary ware; soft texture, winter is not cold feeling; bright color, can meet the different tastes the pursuit of individuality. Made with acrylic basin, bathtub, toilet, not only exquisite style, durable, and has environmental effects, radiation and the radiation level of the body's own bone is not much difference between. Acrylic sanitary ware first appeared in the United States, has now occupied more than 70% of the international market. Because of the difficulty and high cost of acrylic production, there are many cheap and cheap substitutes on the market. These substitutes are also referred to as "acrylic", in fact, ordinary organic boards or composite boards (also known as sandwich panels). Ordinary organic boards are made from common organic glass cracking material with pigment. The surface hardness is low, and it is easy to fade. After polishing with fine sand, the polishing effect is poor.
Q: I want to shatter a piece of plastic to use for an art project. Is there a way to crack it into a web-like shape like this
Clear plastic usually won't shatter for any reason. Some kinds of plastics such as the kind used to make paint buckets will shatter after being stored a couple of years in a very hot shed. (How do you think I know that?) What you want to do is get a laminating kit. Office supply stores carry them. Stick a layer on both sides of thin glass and beat it into an artistic condition. Another technique that might work for you is to use art glass, commonly called stained glass. Break it into artistic shapes and tape together with masking tape on only one side. Then force clear silicon tub and tile sealer between the pieces. After it sets, strip off the tape and see what you have. Lastly, consider candy glass. It will shatter but it won't cut skin. When you see a movie where somebody is thrown through a window, that is candy glass. Ask at any stage supply store about that.
Q: Once I went to a workshop, and the moderator used a spray to paste papers in a big plastic sheet. We could remove the papers and paste them again without any problem. Do you know its name and where can I get it? Thank you!
I've got a can made by 3M. It is called Spray Mount, Artist's Adhesive. I don't know where I bought it years ago, but I shop mostly at Michaels and Hobby Lobby.
Q: Perforate a sheet of plastic with a laser
UV laser marking machine, processing method of ultraviolet laser marking machine is cold processing, due to thermal effects of laser wavelength, the position of the role of the surrounding material is very small, so it can be refined and does not destroy the workpiece. (higher cost) you can look at the creation of laser, you want to do this effect, using equipment to do, it should be difficult!
Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to UV radiation?
Yes, plastic sheets can be resistant to UV radiation depending on the specific type of plastic used.
Q: I'm looking for a sheet of clear plastic to go on the back of a picture frame. It needs to be about 110cm by 60 cm and I suppose abut 3-4 mm thick.Basically the same as you'd use as the glass bit on the front of a frame. What should I be looking for? Perspex, acrylic?Any ideas on cost or what types of places to look for would art shops do this sort of thing?Any ideas welcome, I'm in Liverpool in the UK but general guidance needed too! Thanks.
Afraid I really don't have a good answer to your question, but I do know that one photography trick for shooting through glass is to go to a thrift store or something and get a nice, unscratched piece of glass from a picture frame because supposedly the glass is glare free. Hopefully that helps you narrow down your search a little. A search for Liverpool Plastics brings up quite a few different businesses with phone numbers in your area. I'm not sure what kind of minimum order they might have, or how knowledgeable or time restricted the person on the phone might be, but it seems like it would be worth a shot to try that route. Online shipping charges can get pretty steep pretty quick.
Q: where can i buy sheet plastic for seat covers ?
What do you mean by sheet plastic? You can buy good vinyl fabric by the yard at fabric stores like JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby.
