- Some of the suggestions you already have are pretty good, especially the upright attempt. But measure carefully first, the only suggestion I can add is to remove the legs. I do upholstery, the legs should be attached to the frame with screws, so check and see, then carefully remove (make sure you put all the screws into a baggie or other container so they don't disappear. Removing the legs should make the profile of the sofa narrower, so if you can slip it in upright, that will give you a few less inches in width, then when its in the room, all you have to do is re-attach the legs. - Q: HeyI am moving out to new apartment and wanted to go for a new sofa. My husband insists on having a full recliner sofa which has dimensions 90#92;L x 42#92;H x 45#92;D. Now the problem is that the recliner might be just too big and bulky for the apartment(that's what I think,though not sure). Should I go for a simple sofa set and just one recliner chair(for my husband) or should I buy that recliner? My living room is 14' x 12.6' with 9 foot ceiling. Please help.
- A recliner sofa is massive and over sized for just about all spaces let alone an apartment space. I wouldn't do it. And I wouldn't buy a traditional recliner as an accent chair as it is still huge but rather one of the contemporary ones that doesn't look like a recliner. The Stressless line offers many choices in recliners that have no resemblance to the hulking pieces that you are familiar with So if you do your homework you can have what you both want without the massiveness of the traditional reclining pieces. I would get a regular not necessarily formal sofa or sectional and look for a more contemporary unassuming recliner from a more contemporary market.

- well all leather sofas get scratched up, somehow... Darker colors will get light marks, because the stains, are just that, stains, topical coloring, there is no way real leather can be stained all the way through. lighter sofas, dont show scratches as easily. a leather that is colored with patchy colors, to have that modern look to it, conceal discolorations... It's good to get a good leather protectant, but one that doesn't leave leather oily. Leather can be as thick as cow hide, or thin as bob's furnature's, it will scratch, scuff, or be stained by fruit drinks, wines, and inks. Although a thicker leather, will hold up to cuts, and deep abbrasions alot easier, and can be repaired alot easier, but at a costly expense. re tanning the hide, basically. Leather sofas with more details, is asking for trouble, the higher the details, or workmanship to make it look fancier, the higher the chances, of problems arising, Studs, aren't very deep, even for the most handy sofa maker, they will come out, and you got yourself a hole, a whole that will eventually tear, or catch something, or the occasional friend that likes to pick at little things, they shouldn't. The best way to go is simple craftmanship, thicker leather, and just spend the extra on accenting around the couches, to bring more ellagance to the room. which is more eye popping, becaus when someone sits down, they dont notice the couch anymore, it's the things around them. I spent, 2,500 dollars on my couch and chair/ottoman., not even a scratch, and we have a dog, a cat, and a bullin the china shop husband.

- Finn.no is probably the largest used items web shop. OKorder hasn't made many inroads in Norway yet. The other option would be Fretex, but not as a web site. If you live in a reasonably sized town there probably is a fretex shop that does furniture. Of course you might be able to stretch to new, the wonderful Ikea isn't that silly as far as prices go. Be prepared though some of the taste is shocking!
