Q: I'm building myself a new rig anytime soon but I fancy myself a bulldozer. Thing is, those won't come out till Q4 2010 or Q1 2011. I'm going to buy an 890gx or 890fx mobo so that i could drop in that chip when the time comes. But for the moment, i need a temporary fix to fill in that slot. What should I get? What I had in mind is an Athlon II X3 440 while waiting for the new chip. Is this fine or should I use something else? Primary purpose of the rig btw is gaming, to be paired with a 5850( also temporary while waiting for the 6*** series =D). Monitor is 23 playing at 1920x1080. Will there be bottleneck issues?So stick with Athlon II X3 440? Or something else? =DTIA!: I'd just stick with the 440, can't wait for the 6*** series as well!

I would make sure you had just about the best graphics cart you can buy, memory I would go with the 1GB and test once you are up and running, if you see slow performace, up the memory. Processor I would get youself the quad. Main thing is go with the best you can afford on items that are not upgraded easily such as the processor, other items such as memory which is plug and play I would go with moderate since you can test and upgrade later if needed.

Q: Hi I have a AM3 socket motherboard and i was wondering if I can install one of the new bulldozer cpu's into it? I understand people have been spreading rumor's that it wont and will work and so on, but if anyone has any proff that an AM3+ socket WILL work on an AM3 motherboard please share your source.: If your AM3 motherboard socket is colored black or one of Asus few motherboards with white colored sockets, then yes it is supported via bios update. But remember not all features will work such as advanced power management and clock gating capabilities unless you have a AM3+ motherboard.

Q: im looking at buying a new computer. i will be doing normal web browsing, work and a fair bit of gaming. i plan on having this computer future proof and i want to be able to play bf3 when it comes out.so i spitting up between 1100t BE (or bulldozer if its cheap) or I7 2600k. im edging towards amd because the price, i can also include a screen with the amd system for the price of the I7 box on its own without a screen. i was also wanting to know would the amd bottle neck a xfx 2gb 6950. also if anyone else has an amd what do you think of it. does your computer lag in games? does it take long to transfer files? does it lag multi tasking? i know the I7 is better but i need reality answers not benchmarks for a super dooper computer.: The okorder /. Amd: 63fps Intel: 64fps so maybe doug is right anyway
