Q:What is some of the technology (i.e machinery and chemical) used in fracking?
Water, sand, salt, citric acid, benzene or lead are usually used after the hole has been drilled!!!
Q:caterpillar machinery windows?
You can get an exact replacement window from cat but it will be expensive ($300 or more) depending on the size of the window. You can call the local cat house and they will be happy to give you a price, you will need the model and serial number for the parts man to look it up. If it is just broken glass and the gasket and frame are OK you can go to a local glass company and get a new window cut which should save you some money.
Q:anyone know a good workout program that requires no machinery?
sit up and push ups
Q:Can someone get fired if they sue the company they work for and got injured there because of hazardous...?
Legally. No. Unfortunately for him, most states are employment-at-will states. Neither employer nor employee are obligated to give notice or reason for terminating employment. Unless they told him that was the reason he was being fired and/or he has proof to back it up, he won't likely stand a chance at winning a wrongful termination suit against the company. Of course, when in doubt, he should seek consultation with a licensed, local attorney experience in Employment Law.
Q:Field Instruments completed the following transactions and events involving its machinery:?
2004 Jan. 1 Paid $106,600 cash plus $6,400 in sales tax for a new machine. The machine is estimated to have a six-year life and a $9,800 salvage value. Dr Machine $113,000 Cr Cash $113,000 Dec. 31 Recorded annual straight-line depreciation on the machinery. Dr Depreciation expense $17,200 Cr Accum depr $17,200 2005 Dec. 31 Due to new information obtained earlier in the year, the machine’s estimated useful life was changed from six to four years, and the estimated salvage value was increased to $13,050. At this point, your net book value was $95,800. The new useful life is 4 yrs, but 1 yr has passed already, so you have to depreciate this net book value less salvage value over 3 yrs. Recorded annual straight-line depreciation on the machinery. Dr Depr $27,583.33 Cr Accum depr $27,583.33 2006 Dec. 31 Recorded annual straight-line depreciation on the machinery. Dr Depr $27,583.33 Cr Accum depr $27,583.33 Dec. 31 Sold the machine for $25,240 cash Dr Accum depr $72,366.66 Dr Cash $25,240 Dr Loss on disposal of machine $15,393.34 Cr Machine $113,000
Q:I think drug testing is bullshit, unless you operate or are responsible for heavy machinery. Agree?
I absolutely agree with you! There has been no proven compelling reason for across the board drug testing, no cost savings, no better productivity, nothing. It is just a phallacy that the drug testing labs continue to propagate across our society. Not to mention that there is no test to find out about current use of marijuana. The THC stays in your blood (fat cells I think) for up to a month so what are they testing for? That you ran into a college buddy and managed to score a joint and then smoked it a month ago? Come on! On the other side of the coin, I've needed a job and went through drug testing 3 times. I have not used heavy drugs for many, many years, but used to be a regular pot smoker and I managed to pass all 3 of them. Also, I know that the residue from drugs such as cocaine, heroin and meth only stay in your system a few days, so if you fail because you are snorting on the way to your test, the the test has worked, because it proves you are stupid! And finally, I have always been an outstanding employee that rarely, if ever, calls in sick, works twice as hard as others and I am professional in every way I represent my employer. Kinda blows the theory that drug users cost the company money, doesn't it?
Q:machinery used for making apple and various juices and its machinery cost?
Big heavy squishing machines. They cost a lot.
Q:Why do some tomato farms use machinery to harvest and others use itinerant workers?
The other posters gave you good answers. The other point I would raise is that harvesting machinery is very expensive and only the largest farms can afford them. For most vegetable growers, especially if they are growing a variety of vegetable crops, they don't have the economy of scale to justify the investment.
Q:what machinery and equipment is used in mining and processing wolframite?
I could not locate machinery specific to wolframite or tungsten, so presume that they are mined the same way that other underground metals are. Equipment would include drills to make holes and break up rock and loaders to carry the rock away. You would also need support systems for tunnels and lights and safety equipment for the workers. Processing is done in a handful of places in the world--again I found only generalized descriptions of the process. The websites listed below are of some help.
Q:is it true that Machinery Repairmen (Navy)?
The duties performed by MRs include: repairing and operating auxiliary machinery; calculating time and material needed for machine shop work and the repairing of auxiliary machinery; drawing sketches and preparing specifications for replacement parts; working from sketches and specifications to produce replacement parts; operating machine shop equipment, such as lathes, drill presses, shapers, bench grinders, milling machines, boring mills, power hacksaws and computer numerically controlled machinery; working with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, depth gauges, verniers, calipers, gauge blocks, protractors and dial indicators; engraving metal and other materials; performing electroplating and flame spraying operations.
