Q:I just bought a house and am looking for an inexpensive bed. I've been looking around and finding lots of platform beds for around $200. Apparently they use a futon mattress, which I've never slept on.

Platform beds don't necessarily have to have a futon-type mattress--and if you do use one, they're likely to be rather hard. Also futon mattresses generally have a shorter lifespan than a regular mattress--they tend to compact quickly. You can use a regular mattress with a platform bed, and if so, the bed should be as comfortable as a regular bed with a box spring, although the appearance would not be quite as low and sleek as a bed would with the futon-style mattress.

Q:How to get rid off bed bug?

I had the same problem but, the real problem is that the bugs come from outside my apartment, so every time we get rid of them they comeback very quickly, the guy said that he has to treat the whole building in order to make sure it won't come back, yah right. here is what I did, every body said that those electronic devices doesn’t affect them but I decided to try it and it worked, I went to home depot and bough couple of them, I don't know if it got ride of them out of my apartment, they may be still in, but for some reason they stopped biting, and they don't show at night like they used to any more, I been using it for more than two weeks and the only time they showed up it was when I unplugged the device to use the outlet, and forgot to plug the device back.

Q:It's only 8:30pm, yet I feel exhausted and ready for bed. However, I never really go to bed this early. Should I just go to bed or wait another hour or two?Also, what time do you go to bed?

Q:Why when we were kids or when we were adults, did we say Don't let the bed bugs bite! Before they went to sleep??

It was an expression and it rhymed with night. In olden times, bed bugs were prevalent with poor laundry methods and up to 5 people in a bed.

Q:I have found a couple cute crib bedding sets, cheap too. I'm undecided if I want to buy a set or buy individual pieces? I can get everything in a set for cheaper and everything will match. But, the comforter will just be decoration since it's so heavy and I'm leaning towards getting breathable bumpers instead of the thick padded ones. The skirt ruffle isn't important either. If I buy individual pieces, I want them to match. What did you do for your little one?

I bought a bedding set- but it's rarely on the bed at the same time! I would say you are definitely fine with a mix match set and it could be fun if it all compliments each other- the way the little kids go through sheets is amazing. Especially if you want to go with a specific breathable bumper- you wouldn't need the whole bedding set- I do like the crib comforter though. My son's almost two and we don't use the comforter very much, but it does look attractive on the crib, or dangling on the side :-)

Q:I don't know what to choose. A bed with a desk (seperate) or a loft bed?

If space is a real issue, the loft bed will allow you to open up the floor for desk and other uses. The loft bed is difficult to make in the sense that tucking in the top sheet and covers would be difficult. But if you have a fitted sheet and a sleeping bag or comforter on it, you would just have to wash that bedding periodically and not worry about tucking in sheets as our mothers used to so meticulously do. There are bunk bed/desk combos available in catalogs and furniture stores that fulfill your needs. Not a loft, but a bunk bed might be just what you're looking for. If space is not too tight, I prefer the traditional bed and desk, as your bed always doubles for other uses (putting on shoes, folding clothes, you get the idea....). Hope this helps.
