Q:What does Blue Steel meen?
Actually, it is a reference to the movie Zoolander, which is a comedy. Ben Stiller's character (Zoolander) is a fashion model (and assassin) and he gives names to the poses he takes in front of the camera. One of the poses, which nobody can supposedly resist, is called Blue Steel. Although bluing is something that actually is done to gun metal to harden it (i.e. heating/plating with nickel), that is not what this particular song is referring to.
Q:Can steel oxidize?????????
Yes - Steel can oxidize, its most commonly called rust Steel is a metal. Depending on the level of oxidation, you might be able to polish it with very fine steel wool. If is is really bad, then you might need a chemical cleaner such as Naval Jelly, which can be found at the hardware store. But the Naval Jelly might discolor the metal, so then you might need to polish it afterward to return its finish.
Q:Does anyone know about steel framed houses?
Steel frame houses are built using a modern method of construction (MMC) with an impressive strength to weight ratio and great design flexibility. The modern steel industry has been making in-roads to residential construction and material price reductions in the 1960 s made it a more affordable option.
Q:Is Steel a Metal or Non - Metal ?
Steel is an alloy mostly made of metallic elements. You really wouldn't classify steel as a metal or a nonmetal. That terminology is mostly used with pure elements.
Q:Cold steel katana?
Save your money and by a wooden boken. Train with a well balanced wooden one. It is how the great Japanese master started their training. Steel swords are good for display. and perhaps if you become relay good and want to feel the heft and practice cutting straw men and bamboo stalks than invest some money in the real deal for a few hundred $$ at the least.
Q:why use steel-reinforced concrete?
Steel is strong in both tension and compression. No Steel is strong in tension. Under compression it will bend. Example. Take a steel cable. stretch it (Ok you cant) Now compress it. it bends. Bridges generally need support from below. So you need something thats strong under compression. IE concrete. However concrete can fail if it gets a tension - so pre-tensioned steel rods are cast into it to take any such tension (stretching or bending) forces.
Q:Steel Fabrication?
Steel fabrication involves the joining together of different types and sizes of steel members e.g when you are constructing a truss. This will include welding or bolting together those members as specificified on engineering drawings though sometimes you have to design/provide a suitable connection yourself. You have to ensure that all connections are adequate/ will not fail in service. You will also have to produce steel fabrication drawings showing various details and these you will send to the design engineer for his approval before you commence the actual fabrication.
Q:Which one is better to start? Steel or Acrylic tapers?
Q:Are steel toed boots okay for street motorcycle riding?
I honestly don't like riding with heavy boots on my sport bikes. It it tough to get a feel for where neutral is, and there really isn't a ton of clearance between the peg and the shift lever. I prefer lighter, more flexible boots like my old desert combat boots. They are really well broken in and you can really feel what's going on. When I ride a bike with a heal-toe shift like my old Roadking, it doesn't matter nearly as much. You could probably shift pretty well wearing ski-boots. As long as they give you enough feel for the shift lever, any boots will probably be fine though.
Q:can i heat treat and temper ASTM A36 steel?
A36 is plain carbon structural steel. A36 could almost be considered junk steel. It is not suitable for cutting tools in any respect, as it is far to soft to hold an edge. A36 generally cannot be heat-treated, A36 can only be strengthened by cold-working, and even then, only up to about 60,000 psi. Heating the steel will only make it softer. The only real virtue of A36 is that it's easy to work with, it's easily cut and machined and it is very easy to weld. This is good for making steel structure, but not for knives. Probably the most popular material for knife blades is type 440C stainless. 440C is easy to work with in the un-treated state, and the heat treatment procedure is relatively simple.
