Really you don't need any DIY plans. I made three beds for the family - a twin bed, two single beds. If you can afford cut-to- size sawn timber the work load is easirer. First you will have to decide on the exact sizes, make a frame, set in the cross timber which makes the sleeping area or lay a sheet of plywwood cut to size to fit the frame you have made.If you want a bedhead, this is the time to add it on, so with the tail piece. Or if you don't need the bedhead, the task is even simpler. Just firt on the legs firmly in place and you have your bed sans the mattress. In my case I crafted the twin bed so that it housed a linen cupboard under with pull-out drawers. For the childred I had the drawers set in such a way that it provided a suitable housing to hold their shoes, polishing materials, etc.,

Yes you could with several strings attached. Firstly there well may be some additional charges that would apply to the regular rates. When hotels rent out rooms the rates are based on the amount of untilities that the person[s] would use and expected amount of housekeeping required to clean the room etc... nowhere in the rates hotels charge is moving furniture in and out of a unit and having to tear it down prior to your arrival and rebiuld it from bedfame up after. So for the special request [over and above the expected] you may be changed a nominal fee. Secondly there may be a bit of awkwardness on both sides. Hotels don't really care what people do in their rooms as long as other rooms [the hotels business] are uneffected so no bed is no biggie... but why? You're obviously not going to be sleeping so if awake all night are you going to be a pain the the butt to night-time staff and guests. Hotel's are used to all sorts of obscure requests, but given a hotel's function and the whole point of their business is to lodge guests [as per The Inkeepers Act] it is their business to stick their nose in - so they know who is under their roof, a liability thing and yeah someone asking for no bed would make me go hmmmm. I'm not saying it's not legit, I'm just saying I'm obligated to ask why [and if you want the room you'd have to answer or I'd just pass] Just tell them you're using the room for a photo shoot, getting rid of the bed and putting a background against the wall... or having a work or social group meeting, it's just a few people who a hotel perfect size, don't need a conference room as its just 4-6 people so clearing out the bed would be awesome... Taking the bed out isn't a huge deal, but they'd want to know why [because of the impression you'll be up all night and fear you'll be loud or lots of people coming and going....]

well if u sleep on a sheet covering ur bed, when u get up tuck the sheet neatly around the bed (if its come out) fold ur bedsheet and place it either at the foot of the bed or on the head of the bed ( over ur pillow).

Q:I just converted by daughters crib into a bed, as she is now of the age she does not like being stuck in bed. She is fine climbing in and out of bed, but i am afraid she will fall out sometime in the night. We have hardwood floors, so I don't think it will feel very good to fall out of bed. My question is, what can I put down below the open side of her bed to cushion the fall? I need something that won't slide around too much on the floor, too.

I had problems with my daughter falling out of bed when I converted her to the toddler bed, too. Just put a blanket on the floor next to her bed. You can put that rubbery shelf/rug liner underneath to keep it from slipping too much. Also, you might want to tie a small pillow to the leg of the bed so she doesn't bump her head on it. Don't worry too much though. She probably won't even wake up when she falls out of bed. It takes a little while, but eventually they get to a point where it doesn't happen as often.

Q:they are 10 and 7. they have a hard plastic bed at the moment, is that good for them? because they dont seem to mind it.

Any bed is okay i should imagine, maybe soften it up with a blanket etc My lab has a soft bed its like brown with black paw prints over it and was very cheap i also have old pillows that i put around the bed so it is more comfy and she loves it :)

You would most likely have more luck finding it at your local feed and seed store.However hay really is not that good for bedding as it is not very absorbent. You will have to change the cage every 4 days or so. All guinea pigs chew on their bedding it is just part of being a guinea pig.I truly do not think they actually ingest that much of it. I also have found that if i was careful not to let them run out of the timothy hay they did not have the tendency to chew on the bedding. They just have an innate need to chew so if they have hay they will chew on that and satisfy that need for the most part. With guinea pigs the more you can reproduce their natural habitat the heather and happier they will be. Hope this helps, enjoy your guinea pig
