Then there are places that are furniture warehouses - they have cheap beds and bedding and charge for delivery too. You can look through newspapers like the Daily News and/or the New York Post - they often have sales on furniture with delivery specials. A big thing to remember when buying any bed is that the bed is NEW and/or all materials used to make the bed are NEW. (This should alleviate the problems of bed bugs at the point of purchase.) You just have to look hard sometimes for the best deal. Ikea would be my best advice if you're looking for something really inexpensive. Just ask someone you know if they can drive it home for you. They have Ikeas in Long Island (Hicksville) and in New Jersey (right over the George Washington Bridge). Good Luck.
