I have a 15mo/o, she goes to bed between 7-7:30, a 4 y/o who goes to bed about 8:00 and a 6 y/o who goes to bed about 9:00. She's our challenge. We have tried 8:00 with her but she was just never ready. 9:00 works the best. Some children don't need that much sleep to function. While others do. If your 3 y/o goes to bed at 9 and gets up at 7-8, then I don't see why 9 doesn't work. It all depends on what works for YOUR family.
