Q: I need a replacement tip/end for my laptop power cable- specifically, the small cylindrical metal-and-black-plastic bit that plugs into my laptop. The cable and black box part of the cable are working fine, but the tip has bent and I need a new one. I'm having trouble finding any on OKorder or elsewhere because I don't know the technical term for the component to search for. Q: When I plug and unplug a power cable to the net in my home for let's say, 50.000 times a day, why doesn't my electricity-meter not count that power for the monthly electricity fee?When I unplug the cable the cable should still have some electricity flowing through it at the moment of unplugging. That electricity disappears very shortly after . But after unplugging it, it doesn't have any electricity anymore. So some electricity is lost right? How does this work?: by electricity I assume you mean electrical energy. power is the rate at which electrical energy is consumed. Power is generated by the flow of electrical current across a potential difference. Let's use an analogy. A cable is like a water pipe. Current is like the flow of water in the pipe. Pressure is like potential difference (voltage). When there is a difference in pressure at the two ends of the pipe, water will flow through the pipe. The flow of water carries energy, because it can be used to spin a paddle wheel (motor), and the friction of the water against the pipe (electrical resistance) generates heat. I think your question is something to the effect of, if I suddenly remove the pressure difference across the pipe, won't there still be energy in the water flowing in the pipe, and isn't that energy wasted? Well, there's a difference between water and electrical current: the electron hardly weighs anything. There's very, very little energy stored in the motion of electrons in a wire. When the wire is disconnected, the electrons come to a stop almost immediately, and the amount of energy wasted is infinitesimal. I hope that sort of answers your question.

Will this cause problems?: Hi There, The 220 volt AV power cable will not cause any interference but it is not a good idea. The fiberoptic cable should be ran separate. It is a little more work but the right way to route the cable. You have to be very careful not to exceed the bend radius and wrapping around an existinf power wire might cause a problem. =====this is from the link below======= Do not install a fiber optic cable in a conduit or duct that already contains cabling, regardless of the cable type. Q: is there any way to fix this? i don't want to upgrade my power thingy though.: Did the cardboard incorporate a cable that has a huge and small white connector on one end and a huge connector on the different? Or a small connector on one end and a extensive 4pin connector on the different end? If it did, connect the small connector to the small 4 pin interface connection on the lower back of the cardboard and hook the means suppy to the different end of the cardboard. This ingredients the voltage mandatory to run the fan, you pick this for cooling.

Q: Which is the best way to prevent damage to the laptop / ac power jack when someone trips on the cable ?Dont ask me to buy a Mac since I already have one. This is for my new PC notebook.: I would suggest using the velcro tye's you can get at any electronic store. Try tying off at the leg of your table. You can also use gaffing tape to tape it down to your floor. Gaffers tape usually doesn't leave a residue and is easily removed. Again, you can get it at Home Depot int he electronics section. Oh yeah, and be careful. :o)
