I guess that since Steel doesn’t have headphones connection and a built-in soundcard, one won’t be able to play a track on one deck and prelisten the track on the other without using an external usb soundcard, right? I was wondering what’s the point in releasing a product like this if you also have to buy a bunch of equipment to be able to do sth “fondamental”: play while preparing your next song. However since the steel is meant for DJ’s who already have a great soundcard, but I don’t see why a Steel+sound card is ONLY for pro’s. Yes it’s designed for pro’s but you can use it as a beginner. Q:I am in the US and looking for a price on wide flange steel. I need a price of one W10x30 and 20 feet long.

The price of steel is increasing daily, so an exact answer is rough. A W10x30 is a fairly common shape and shouldn't be too hard to find. For a very rough ballpark number, say $700/ton (installed price), the piece you require should be in the range of about $250.00 or less as I assume you'll be doing the installing. Please don't take this as the gospel, however. Price varies on location, stock, and availability. Open the phone book and contact your local steel supplier. Because the piece you require is fairly short, you might get lucky and find someone who has a waste piece that length that they will give you a good deal on. --------------------------------------... I just checked the AISC web site to verify the number I quoted above and they posted an article stating that the average mill price had just increased to over $1000/ton in May. The best advice I can provide at this point is to buy the W10 now and don't wait any longer.

Q:I bought my Gerber Scout for 29 bucks at the local Walmart a couple months ago, and so far it's performed better than any of my previous knives (a couple of low quality Bucks, and a Winchester). However, my friend just bought a 50 dollar Buck knife and I absolutely love it, so I'm debating trading mine in and pitching in a bit of cash for the same kind.What troubles me is the fact that everybody seems to be bashing 440A steel. I hear a lot of bad things about it; how it is soft, chips easy, dull quickly, etc. How bad is 440A steel really, and would it be worth trading in my Gerber plus about 30 cash for a Buck Vantage Pro? Apparently the Vantage Pro uses S30V steel, so is it really that big of an upgrade, from 440A to S30V? Thank you.

Its the standard for most knives and its the easiest to sharpen, I have a couple 440 steel knives and they have never failed me, my oldest one is 11 years old and I have stabbed multiple people(in self defense, cut open backpacks, seat belts, fishing string, limes, thin rope, jeans, jackets, pockets, seats, popped tires, moved hot charcoal and other stuff, it just has to be sharpened every now and then. Although I really like carbon knives like KA-BAR's those are amazing and are the only fixed blade knife I would ever buy.
