- Q: all my car brake lights are out. i checked the light bulbs, and they were all okay, and i also checked all of the fuses and they were also okay. all the light signals and all the other lights were working fine. so now what do i need to do to check to fix the brake lights problem?

- Ha. A black light is just a light a tad bid away from being ultraviolet. It's kind of in between violet and ultraviolet. It looks purple and white seems to glow under it. Many black lights aren't completely true ultraviolet, because true UV lights can be dangerous.
- Q: Have 2 lights Power to light 1 need to connect to light 2 then down to single pole switch How do you wire?
- If there is constant power to light 1you can do this. What you should look for in the ceiling box of light 1 is two wires that are connected by a wire nut and not connected to the light.They will be either two blacks or two reds or ablack connected to a red. Take off the wire nut and check with an electrical tester to see if it is live. If it is turn off the switch and see if it is still live. If so, you are set to go. Turn off the power. Run a 14/2 cable to the closet. At the bedroom end connect the black wire to the two wires that had the wire nut connected to it at the bedroom ceiling light and put a wire nut on them and wrap with electrical tape. Connect the white wire to the other white wires in the bedroom light. Connect the ground to the other ground wires in the bedroom light. At the closet light end connect the white wire from the cable that you have just run to the white wire of the closet light. Now run a 14/2 cable down to the new switch on the wall from the closet light. Connect the black wire to one side of the switch. Now take a black magic marker and color the white wire black and connect it to the other side of the switch. Now go back to the closet light. You have connected the white to white already. You stiil have a white hanging loose that you have not connected. Color it black and connect it to the black that is coming from the bedroom light. The other black will be connected to the closet light black. Connect the grounds together and you are done. I know this sounds complicated, but if you follow the directions carefully you will have success.
- Q: If i shine white light onto a yellow surface with black text; will the text be clearer than if i shone a yellow light onto it?
- They should be the same. This is because a yellow surface ONLY appears yellow because it absorbs all other frequencies of light but NOT yellow frequencies. because true white light is made up of all frequencies of visible light. (note: your light sources at home are generally not completely white they are missing some frequencies) So if you shine a white light on it the only light you will see is still yellow, all others are absorbed. If you shine a yellow light on it nothing is absorbed but the exact same wavelength of light is reflected off as when you used a white light. HOWEVER, in practice you would have to match the yellow light source exactly to the wavelengths of light that the yellow surface would reflect. It's easier to use white light because it already includes all of the frequencies of light that the surface would reflect.
