I want to put peel and stick tile down but not sure how to measure for it. I want to do this today while my hubby is at work so I can surprise him. Im working on the master bath first its not that big, its only 5 feet by 5 inches long and 5 feet by 3 inches wide. How much peel and stick would I need? I have already cleaned the floors very well, what other tools do i need to get?

- the tricky part to working on a tile roof is staying on it. and not cracking any additional tiles. usually when i repair a tile roof i set up scaffolding there are a bunch of reasonss . the tiles sre heavy and hard to handle on just a ladder, the scaffolding offers a nice work area, and most important its alot safer, you can go to any rental store and rent scaffolding, when resealing around flashing and vents use a rubber butyl caulk for longer durability

- It could me just a simple ceramic tile, and could also be a mosaic glass tile, or anything in between. Tile comes in MANY different sizes, materials, and shapes, but smaller tiles are almost always mounted to a backing like you have described and are *generally* one foot squares. Check the link and I'm betting you are talking about either the top left one or the one on the right side second from the bottom. - If you're using ceramic tiles (very regular size and relatively smooth/even back), use a 1/4 square notched trowel, held somewhere between 45 and 90 degrees (vertical). If you're using natural stone tiles (e.g. granite, marble, slate), go for 3/8 square notched trowel and back-butter the tiles. Make sure the concrete slab is clean, sound, free of cracks and level before you start and follow the instructions for your thinset. You'll likely want to use a modified thinset which will help bond to the concrete better. If you have any doubts about the stability of your slab, consider installing an isolation membrane between the tile and slab. Schluter's Ditra system is the best of the breed for this. If you use an isolation membrane, use unmodified thinset (instead of modified).
