- Well...screamo, emo, punk, core aren't metal dude. They're just scene kid music. Real metal subgenres are stuff like death metal, black metal, doom metal, thrash metal, power metal, and their many subgenres aswell..melodic black metal, symphonic black..etc. There are many good bands out now, under these subgenres...if you've never heard of them you should definitly check 'em out dude. I love just about all subgenres of metal. (Not hardcore and screamo) haha Oh and by the way... Meshuggah is Metalcore. Hardcore dude. Not metal.

- yes very sad, System of a Down is viewed as Alternative metal/experimental rock, and Slipknot is viewed as nu metal.and slayer has been viewed as thrash as well as speed metal along with heavy metal, and Sabbath is true heavy metal, but you know. if its good music and you like it doesnt really matter what name you put on it,, if its music and you love it great, sometimes i think everyone get hung up on what type of music they listen to,,,, me i llsten to good music the ones i like the best, just as im sure you do the same

- My fav metal band is Judas Priest. They're a British classic metal band. Check out Nighcrawler, Hell Patrol, and Living After Midnight (more of a rock song, but still great). There's also their song Metal Meltdown... That's a good one. Also, I love Iron Maiden... Another classic metal band!!! I'm sure you know who they are ;D A modern metal band... There's System of a Down, which is my fav. They're metal, so don't listen to somebody if they say they aren't... Just listen to their Toxicity CD. They're a progressive-rock/metal/doom-metal(psyche... genre. They rock pretty hard dude. Another modern one is Children of Bodem, which is more death metal than anything...
