Q:anyone knows some practical situation when a resistance maybe used to model part of a circuit, a component or electrical equipment

Q:I don't understand how oil and gas industry has anything to do with electrical engineering jobs??Am I not seeing this because currently I am working as a electronics engineer ? This is how I am thinking about this - Oil and gas industry , digs up oil , provides it to our cars and trucks so they can run. Now I don't understand how or where Electrical engineers come into play into this ?? Please make me understand. I want to know.P.s: I am an entry level electronics engineer, with a degree in Electrical engineering , Currently I am located in Houston, texas.
This website will show you jobs in your discipline in the oil and gas industry. Take a good look at the descriptions to find out what the work could involve, and follow a trail on the internet to see where you could use your skills in your local area. You will need to think about travel at some point though, in this industry.
Q:Conduct regular maintenance tests for the electrical equipment. The following actions should be taken to reduce the probability of potential electrical deficiencies at this facility. The Hazard
potential electrical deficiencies means the possibility that this facility will not work due to electrical problems in other words, future problems caused by lack of maintenance on the electrical equipment. Therefore, the sentence could be rephrased as follows: The following actions should be taken to to make sure all the electrical equipment stays in good working order.
Q:I have a mini (just like 5x6 inch) Lasko personal space heater. It is not originally intended for heating for tanks and cages, but since it is ceramic I was 't sure if it would be okay. It has safety features such as overheat protection and cool touch housing. Would it be good to use in the tank for the snake? He's a baby cornsnake, and the tank is a 29 gallon glass tank (like an aquarium). I already have a heating pad and two heat lamps, but it still won't get warm enough. And I don't want to use central heating to heat the whole house just for his small space. Not to mention, it just stopped working. I know I can get a conventional ceramic heat emitter, but since this is what I have, I'm hoping it will work.
I agree with Ferris. I am generally against putting most electrical equipment INSIDE a reptile enclosure, unless it was specifically designed for that, (in other words, designed to deal with water humidity, to be shat upon, etc) You could certainly aim it into the tank, provided you have a good thermometer to gauge the temps, (you don't want to overheat it either.) The first thing I would do If I were you is to reevaluate the type and wattage's of bulbs you are using. Maybe a higher wattage bulb can solve your problem.
Q:I want to know how good of a shot I have if my MOS is for electrical power production or electrician, that I can receive the first duty station on my wishlist.Yes Im aware that the needs of the service come first.
Army MOS 21P (Prime Power Production) is in high demand. Depends on what your duty station of choice is 90% of those with the 21P MOS are assigned between 4 different posts.
Q:A. Lockout/Tagout involves placing a physical lock and a tag on electrical equipmentB. Lockout/Tagout is necessary prior to working on electrical equipmentC. Lockout/Tagout is intended to ensure that electricity is not returned to the equipment by anyone until it is safe.D. Lockout/Tagout is to be used only in extreme cases of potential electrical hazard.
D is not true - a lock out tage is used whenever applying electricity to the circuit would result in dangerous conditions. When repair work is being done on the circuit equipment for example. Lock out tage are used for more then just electrical too.
Q:All of my US electrical equipment has had it's wattage determined to provide the proper transformer to use. Transformers were bought to support between a third and half of the load that would be demanded. I am not using multiple devices which would cause overload. My TV (395W) only clicks once (like the sound of a relay) when plugged into the 3000W 220-120 step down transformer and never turns on. The transformers are tripping the breaker of the apartment now. I was assured there would be no problems taking my US equipment to Amsterdam and using transformers. Some light on this subject would be appreciated. I can't imagine everyone has this trouble, or there wouldn't be companies in the US in this business.
I think the transformer is faulty. From my experience whether 50Hz or 60Hz power supply is ok for the TV. BTW did u press the on button on the TV or CH+/- button to switch on ?? ----just joking. To me everything seems ok except the transformer check if it is damaged
Q:Do you find batteries die faster than they should, light bulbs flicker or go out too quickly, electrical equipment does werid stuff or dies sooner than it should. I've had some weird experiences with the computer and one small printer ar work. Also, I had a period where remote controled TV's would go on by themselves. I don't have that problem now, though.
I can't wear a watch with battery, or carry a cell phone on my person. The battery dies if I do! I can't even use a blue tooth ear peace for the same reason. I have a really big battery on my cell phone now so I can talk for about 1/2 hour before I have to plug it in. I don't think this problem has ANYTHING to do with my Religion (Wicca) and I have never shown any Physic ability.
Q:I live in Houston texas and am planning on getting a degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering. What do they both involve? Which is better pay and more job offering?
Job outlook is the same. Salary. In most cases, electrical engineers get paid a little more ($3000-5000 more per year on average). But it is not always the case. It depends on industry, location, job hazards, job title, job responsibilities, education, and experience. For both majors, the starting salary range is $45,000-60,000 per year. After 5 years of experience, the ranges are around $63,000-73,000. After 20+ years of experience, the salary for both would be around $88,000-98,000 average. Mechanical engineers solve problems related to mechanical issues whether it is quality, reliability, maintainability related or HVAC and plumbing related, or if it is related to designing a mechanical component with strict tolerances. For example, my mechanical engineering friend is working on this hugs project. His company is developing just one of the gears that will go in future Subaru transmissions. He has to design that single gear to strict tolerances to withstand extreme pressures, speeds, and temperatures. Electrical engineers solve problems related to electrical systems. They design electrical systems for buildings and equipment, conduct electrical surveying, quality inspect circuit boards and other electrical parts. They design or improve electrical components as well.
Q:doesnt it release toxins when heated or burned, also why do they use it in cookware, I thought it's supposed to be some high quality plastic that resist heat and deterioration by chemicals, and isnt it also very expensive, but then you see it used on cookware and a bunch of other cheap crap, for example teflon tape, you can buy it at the 99cents store, it cant be that great if they sell it there.
Teflon is used in laboratory equipment and electrical insulation for its resistance to heat and many chemicals. Teflon is a trade name for a variety of fluoro-chlorocarbons, though it's pretty much become a generic term now. It's expensive compared to many other plastics, but some types are fairly cheap, and anyhow, there's not much stuff in a roll of teflon tape or a teflon frying pan. It starts to outgas at around 450°F. Technical applications are usually careful to keep it below that, but in the home, preheating an empty pan can take it to 700° or more, releasing enough toxic gas to kill your pet bird.
We mainly export our products to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, West Africa, West Europe, South America and South Africa.
