Properties:
Manganese has a melting point of 1245oC,specific gravity of 7.2.Ordinary manganese is a hard and brittle gray-white metal .It is chemically reactive and slowly decompose cold water. Manganese metal is ferromagnetic after special treatment.
The main application of electrolytic manganese metal flakes:
Manganese is an important alloying agent. It is added to improve the strength, toughness, stiffness, hardness, wear resistance, and hardenability of steels. Together with aluminum and antimony, especially in the presence of copper, it forms highly ferromagnetic alloys. Manganese dioxide is used as a depolarizer in dry cells and as a decolorizing agent for glass that has been colored green due to iron impurities. The dioxide is also used in drying black paints and in the preparation of oxygen and chlorine. Manganese colors glass an amethyst color and is the coloring agent in natural amethyst. The permanganate is used as an oxidizing agent and is useful for qualitative analysis and in medicine. Manganese is an important trace element in nutrition, although exposure to the element is toxic in higher quantities.
Application
Mainly used in steel-making, special steel-making, non-ferrous alloy (A-Mn alloy, Ti-Mn alloy, Mg-Mn alloy). It is also widely applied in chemical industry, electron undustry, medicine, aerospace, medicine. Also it is used in the high performance soft magnetization ferrite, high magnetic permeability ferrite, high saturated magnetic induction density low cost ferrite, high stable low cost ferrite.

- I think that everyone has a different version of what metal is. For me, I know that I'm listening to a metal band when I get that feeling of power by listening to one of there song. Right now I'm listening to slayer and I feel that feeling and I know there a metal band. I agree with you that a lot of the hair metal bands from the 80s are not metal. The few I do consider metal would be motley crue, van halen and probably a few others. I personally think that both slipknot and despised icon are metal. Evanescence is up in the air in my opinion. I think that deep purple is metal but I think that they had a major part in contributing to the metal scene in the 60s.
