- Q: What's the difference between Heavy Metal, Black Metal, Death Metal, and Melodic Metal?
- This problem is straight-forward if you simply concentrate on the metal...avoid superfluous calculations...KISS comes to mind :-)) I shall assume that you omitted 'liter' in the metal ion conc...should read 0.43mols/liter. Which means that the 100 ml soln you made up from all the salt produced contains 0.043 mols metal. This same soln also contains 2.2g metal (6.8g salt - 4.6g chlorine). So the atomic mass of the metal is 52 g/mol (2.2g/0.043mols) Consulting the Periodic Chart shows Cr, chromium, is the only metal possible...QED So the metal is chromium, and the salt is chromic chloride, CrCl3 If you want to check this answer calc % metal in the salt you obtained [100x2.2/6.8 = 32.4%]....and in CrCl3 [100x52/(52+3x35.5) = 32.8%]...close enough agreement since you really only have two sig figures to work with. These problems are easy if you stay focused...right? :-))
- Q: Why do ionic bonds typically occur between metals and non-metals?
- C'mon Sarah - This is Basic Set Theory - If Genre is the SuperSet - and the Band/s is/are the SubSet - Then there are either - -- an EQUAL amount of Bands Genre - OR - -- there are MORE BANDS than Genres - Jeffrey :-) Heavy, Speed, Black, Death, Prog Metal - that's 5 and even if there is a whole lot of other Genres - there has to be more Bands than Genres Now - Let's breakdown how many DIFFERENT TYPES OF JAZZ there are LOL :-))
- Q: 5 characteristics of alkaline metal5 characteristics of transition metal5 characteristics of alkali metal
- Most metals do not exist in metal form in nature. They form oxides or sulfides. What is dug from mines is roughly a rock containing some percent of the metal in oxide form or others. Iron can be usually found as magnetite (Fe3O4) and hematite (Fe2O3); Titanium as TiO2 etc. But noble metal which are less reactive or not reactive at all such as gold, platinium, silver can be found as metals. So you can find a piece of gold in the nature but not titanium. (iron can only be found in some meteorites). So gold was one of the first metals to be discovered. Then as the metal becomes more reactive it is harder to extract it from the oxide or other compound, and it necesitates a more advanced understanding of chemistry. So as chemistry advanced, more reactive metals were discovered.
- Q: Heavy metalThrash metal ect.
- In chemistry, the term base metal is used informally to refer to a metal that oxidizes or corrodes relatively easily, and reacts variably with diluted hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form hydrogen. Examples include iron, nickel, lead and zinc. Copper is considered a base metal as it oxidizes relatively easily, although it does not react with HCl. Base is used in the sense of low-born, in opposition to noble or precious metal[1]. In alchemy, a base metal was a common and inexpensive metal, as opposed to precious metals, mainly gold and silver. A long-time goal of the alchemists was the transmutation of base metal into precious metal. In numismatics, coins used to derive their value primarily from the precious metal content. Most modern currencies are fiat currency, allowing the coins to be made of base metal.[citation needed] In mining and economics, base metals refers to industrial non-ferrous metals excluding precious metals. These include copper, lead, nickel and zinc.[2] The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is more inclusive in its definition. It includes, in addition to the four above, iron and steel, aluminium, tin, tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, magnesium, cobalt, bismuth, cadmium, titanium, zirconium, antimony, manganese, beryllium, chromium, germanium, vanadium, gallium, hafnium, indium, niobium, rhenium and thallium.[3]
- Q: And, what are three ways other than welding to fasten metal?
- Metal Man. Your name doesnt do you justice. Being Metal Man you should know that there are still tons of real metal bands out there besides just the emo metalcore emocore asking alexandria type stuff. There is a thrash revival and and a traditional metal revival happening with tons of amazing new bands coming from places like Sweden, Finland and Germany etc. Stop complaing about the mainstream metal scene in the US and start living up to your name.
- Q: I'm really lost on this one I can never really tell the differince between any metal so I couldnt tell you which type Ilike.Theres Power metal,Black metal,Death metal...Like whats the differince???
- No, Some of the 80's Thrash bands are still making Thrash records and there's a thing called the New Wave of Thrash Metal which are modern Thrash bands.
- Q: i've been listening to thrash for almost a yr now.. just wanted to try out black and death metal bands.. pls post some good black/death metal bands along with must try/good songs or albums..
- You mean like Na + HOH --> NaOH + 1/2 H2? That's a base, my friend.
- Q: is it possible to make some metal songs about Islam ?
- Metals: 1.) are malleable 2.) are electrically-conductive 3.) are ductile Nonmetals: 1.) are brittle 2.) are insulative 3.) have higher electronegativities than metals
- Q: i know it sounds weird but how can a new metal band not be criticized for being a quot;nuquot; metal band and if they try to act like old Metal bands, they get called posersso, like how can they?
- Atmospheric Hardcore: Neurosis Black Metal: Bathory Death Metal: Death Crossover: Stormtroopers of Death Doom Metal: Reverend Bizarre Doomdeath: My Dying Bride Folk Metal: Skyclad Goth: Type O Negative Grindcore: Napalm Death Grunge: Alice In Chains Industrial: Fear Factory Melodic Death Metal: In Flames Metalcore: Avenged Sevenfold Nu-Metal: Korn NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal): Iron Maiden Power Metal: Helloween Progressive Metal: Dream Theater Sludge Metal: Crowbar Stoner/Stoner Doom Metal: Sleep Thrash Metal: Megadeth Viking Metal: Amon Amarth But genres aren't really that important...
