Q: Won't automatically open when you approach it?
Not scared, but sometimes it's embarassing when they don't open fast enough and you have to slow down to let the door open.
Q: I recently purchased a 2000 Grand Am that had the stereo stripped out by the previous owner. It appears that there may have also been an alarm installed as well that was stripped out. When I recieved the vehicle the automatic door locks did not work and still do not. When I try to use them I do hear a click noise coming from the interrior fuse box. I need to know where I should start looking for the reasoning behind why it is not working and how to go about fixing it. Any ideas?
.The clicking you hear is the relay snapping shut. That really narrows the problem down. At least with that you know the remote, the receiver, and the coil feed is working. You need to get to the relay and see if it is getting power on the hot side (not the coil). If so then see if it is making contact to send the power to the locks. Then you'll have to just trace it to the doors. I seriously doubt both of the solenoids (part that locks and unlocks the door) went bad at the same time.
Q: how do cold temps affect older automatic garage door openers?
I have two that are over 20 years old and they work just fine in colt temps.
Q: I have an "Over Head Legacy Garage door opener. It sometimes opens on its own. I had an electrician come out and look at it. He took took it apart and cleaned it and put the antenna on the inside but it still does it. Granted it doesn't happen every day but once is too many times, I don't know how old the unit is since it came with the house. My home was built in '97 I moved into it in Oct. of '09. Could it be time to buy a new one? (experts only please)
The last house we lived in which was new, we could open the garage door on the house diagonal to us. We were obviously set on the same frequency. Also did you know if your a fair distance away from your house but within view you can open and shut your garage door by simply holding the opener to the side of your forehead. Unbelievable , but it works. We have demonstrated to quite a few people. We also got a switch put inside the garage and when out or at night we turn it off so anyone with a scanner cannot open it.
Q: Why does the automatic door adopt a parallelogram?
The parallelogram is unstable and can be squeezed by it while maintaining the opposite parallel properties
Q: Electric door is not in place, there are 2 cm how to do
If you still can not solve the problem, if the warranty within the scope, you can find the manufacturers home repair, such as has been under the warranty period, if you can not find a problem, in the case of the installation of the case, you can according to the instructions, re-stroke limit adjustment; Can find the relevant professionals to repair.
Q: Elevator automatic door induction has a blind spot is it true?
If you are talking about the protection of the elevator door, it depends on what type, safe touch version of the blind spot, but the contact is a common point of failure. Photoelectric switch is generally used in conjunction with the touch plate. Safety light curtain is a number of infrared emission, the composition of the receiving point, it's the top, bottom, the middle of a blind spot, if it is a small rod can not detect the situation, so the protection is generally the touch version and light curtain or photoelectric Joint use, each take its advantages, to make up for its shortcomings.
Q: I've had no problems with the door until today, I pushed the button to close it, and as it closed it made a big "POP" sound. Now the automatic buttons don't work. And we have to manually open it. Is there any way I can get it fixed without having to pay up to $1,000 at the dealer? ---- Not under warranty. I really need this working again with a new baby on the way.
juoquine, Here is an idea to reset the Power Sliding door that is in you manual: Resetting the Power Sliding Door The power sliding door may operate incorrectly or not at all because of the following conditions: ? A low voltage or dead battery ? A disconnected battery ? If the instrument panel PSD/fuse 21, LHPSD/fuse 24 or RHPSD/fuse 25 are removed or blown. See Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 527 for more information. If any of these conditions occur, the power sliding door may need to be reset. If your vehicle has the dual power sliding doors, both doors will have to be reset. To reset a door, do the following: 1. Check to be sure the power sliding door is unlocked and securely closed. 2. Turn the ignition to LOCK. 3. If the power sliding door overhead console switch is in the override (deactivation) position, return to the activation position. 4. Open the sliding door using the remote keyless entry transmitter, overhead console switch, or passenger switch. Allow the door to travel fully open. If the door does not travel to the fully open position, press the overhead console switch to the override (deactivation) position and slide the door fully open and closed. Check for foreign objects in the tracks. Repeat the procedure starting with Step 1. If the door resists travel to the fully open position, see your dealer for service. I hope this helps! If you need anything else feel free to ask! Thank you, Evan, GM Customer Service
Q: How much is the electric door?

Q: I live in an aprtment. I have a garage that works automaticaly. I didnt realize that it wasnt opened all the way yet and backed into the door with my SUV. well the maintenance guy came and fixed it to the point tha it works going up and down automatically. BUT, when closed there is a gap . the door got dentted so its kind os slanted when down all the way. He said they gonna have the door people come look at it and bill me.What could the cost be. Its working but the bottom of the door is dented. so thats what needs to be fixed. the dent so the gap and be fixed. maintenance guy said probably need to replace one panel.
We have a term for things that are outta whack or unsquare its called :Racked;---for a pro to replace one panel--plan on $300 with the Service Call---If it looks like more then that--ask how much to replace the whole door and compare--if you dint agree with the price locate your own Pro for an estimate. Since you are paying for it dont be shy to ask the price before they do the repair.
