- Home Depot Menards sell a product that wraps around the pipe. The chemical in the wrap is suppose to bound to the copper and seal the leak. I have used that clear silicon type tape that they use to sell on TV Info Commercials. It really did work for me. I have also used a product called JB Weld Made For Water that has also worked for me on Galvanized water pipes. Read the package to make sure you can use it on copper.

- I would check the smoke detector first as it is the most likely cause. Even if it is wired direct there still is a battery back up in most of them. Then I would look at the alarm panel for the fire alarm. If the Battery's in them are more than 5 years old they need to be replaced.
