- Q:I need a piece of flat sturdy plastic about 1/8 thick. Does anybody know where I can buy this? I dont want plexiglass, its too expensive.
- Hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowe's have sheeted plastic, but I'm not sure if this is what you need. If you want a relatively small sheet of stiff plastic, then I would recommend going to a dollar store and seeing if you could modify something that would work for you. Also, if you are looking for clear plastic there are photo-protection sheets that are stiff and come in 8.5x11 size. Go to a photo shop. A pharmacy with photo developing might have them but you never can tell what they will or will not stock.
- Q:i want to make prints on sheets like the kind used on MTG life counters. i have a website on the bottom to show what im talking about. where do i get this plastic sheets from and how do i print on them?
- This isnt something that you can put through your regular printer. Your home printer rolls the paper over a relatively tight turn while its printing. The plastic your looking at is too stiff. Most of this stuff was screenprinted. Find a local screenprinter if your still interested and they can hook you up.
- Q:These sheets should be non-transparent, pure white, 4-6mil in thickness, and relatively stiff (not like that used for plastic bags, but rather like mylar sheet).
- Most hobby shops should be able to supply you with this type of material. If they do not have it then they should be able to locate a supplier for you or at least get you a catalog that would allow you to purchase modeling materials. The link below is for a company that sells many plastic sheets and scaled plastic structural members for railroad models and that type of thing. Send for that catalog.
- Q:What is the effect of lining the bottom of your deep freezer with plastic sheets of material?
- I cannot think of any benefit to doing that unless the deep freezer has a bad seal and is constantly forming ice. As far as I can tell, the plastic sheet would only serve to contain the ice so that it is easier to clean the freezer. Naturally, you have to remove everything in the freezer in order to dump the ice off the plastic sheet, then put everything (including the plastic sheet) back in the freezer. I'm not an expert on this, but I think that your energy bill for the freezer would go up. Plastic doesn't really freeze at the temperatures you are talking about, so putting plastic sheets in a freezer just means that the freezer will have to draw that much more energy (as it tries to freeze plastic). A little Google research showed me that the 'line with plastic sheets' thing is a do-it-yourself measure to try to cover up the problem(s) with the original plastic liner of the freezer. It doesn't look like it works. Perhaps time to start budgeting for a new freezer.

- Domestic blue, green, red, black, yellow, is generally made of new PP or domestic new PE material processing.

- A durable plastic is what landscapers use. They use this for mulch as well.

- With the adhesive tape along the length direction of gusset plate uniformly attached to the plate surface, and plate adhesive tape, try not to leave the bubble, close paste, about 0.5 cm in length, and then quickly tore tape along the board, if on film is peeled off, the adhesion surface membrane of gusset plate, use printed pattern protection on the other hand, the effect is good; the surface of the polishing layer adhesion is poor, the use of the surface film is easy to peel off.

- MicroLens is your best bet. They also have lenses with adhesive on the back. Their website is not much help except it has their phone number, best to call them directly, and ask for the flip software that comes with your first order.
- Q:In my 8th grade art class my teacher had us do a project that involved contrast. We had to use this type of paper and cut out parts of the white so that the black would show through and there would be contrast between the full white and full black areas. I can't remember the name of it and would like to get some for hobby purposes. It was a black sheet of something that was sort of plastic-like and was somewhat reflexive. Then directly on top of that was a sheet of normal paper stuck to the black sheet. If anyone could tell me the name of this paper that would be great. Also if there are any common stores that I could get it at. Maybe Michaels?
