FAQ

Red and blue light are combined in equal amounts. What color is produced? Cyan light shines on a blue filter. What color is the transmitted beam?
Green light on a blue surface. It depends on how pure the light and the color of the surface are. A pure green light that is derived from a spectrum can only reflect green from any colored surface. Similarly a pure blue surface where the pigment absorbs all colors except blue can only reflect blue no matter what color light is shone on it. So if you shine a pure spectral green light on a pure blue surface then all the light will be absorbed and no color will be reflected. A more practical case is where you get your green light by shining a white light through a green filter (or painting a light bulb green). This gives you a light containing a bit of all colors but whose blue, yellow and red are reduced. Similarly most blue surfaces reflect all colors to some degree but they reflect blue better than most. If you shine such a light onto such a surface then the light that comes off will be cyan. But it will only look cyan if the overall illumination is white light. If you are in a room lit by a green light bulb then your eye adapts. If you now look at a blue board then, although the light coming off it is cyan, it will look blue to you. If go combine red and blue light you always get magenta. Cyan shining through a blue filter. The same comments apply as for the green/blue case. If you generate cyan from a spectrum and shine it onto a pure blue filter then nothing gets through. However if you use a normal cyan light that contains a mixture of blue, cyan and green then the light coming through a normal filter will be blue. It will have some green and cyan (along with a tiny bit of red and yellow etc) but most of the light will be blue.
my question deals with variable light transmission (VLT)
it depends upon the color of light and the color of glass.. if the color of light is absorbed by the glass, little percentage of light will pass through coz it was already absorbed by the glass and the color which are present in the glass are the only colors that are reflected by the glass and then the only percentage of light that will pass..for ex. red light passing black glass, theres no light that can pass because black is absence of all colors..therefore the red light was being absorbed by the black glass without any light reflected..we can just simply observe that only the heat or what we call light energy is the thing that can be transmitted lesser compared to the light passing through white glass..so, the answer of the question will depends upon the glass, the light and the kind of glass..diamond form of glass will store light inside and will not allow all light to pass through. so, the percentage of light transmission will lessen ;-)
how does the light bulb produce light???
The filament get so hot it glows. At least, this is how an incandescent bulb works.
whats different about light beer?
Light beer is lighter in alcohol, calories and flavor. It's a waste in my opinion...I enjoy drinking beer for its flavor. If people would just exercise a little and not eat like crap, they wouldn't gain weight from moderate drinking.
Do they need uva/uvb lights?
No they do not need it, but it couldnt hurt to give it to them. It also brings out their color in my opinion.

Title: LIGHT CARRIER12. Light is carried by:a. Nubian slavesb. Etherc. Nothingd. Anythinge. RTD
Light is carried by what? If you are asking whether light needs a 3-dimensional physical medium in which to travel, the answer is NO. In fact, light can only travel in a vacuum, where there is no 3-dimensional physical objects! Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation! When light collides with matter the energy of the light is absorbed by electrons and atoms of the matter. The electrons will absorb some of the energy, become excited and unstable. Then the electrons release the energy as light of a specific color and become stable again. The atoms will absorb the energy and vibrate faster. Now the atoms have more vibrational kinetic energy, so the temperature of the matter has increased. During the time, that the electrons were absorbing energy, becoming excited and unstable, releasing the energy as light of a specific color and become stable again; the energy that used to be in the form of electromagnetic energy is now in the form the vibrational kinetic energy of the atoms. The light does not exist during this time, because the electromagnetic energy does not exist during this time! Electromagnetic radiation, such as visible light, consists of a specific amount of electromagnetic energy. When the electromagnetic energy has changed to kinetic energy, the electromagnetic radiation that is composed of the electromagnetic radiation, that we experience as visible light, no longer exists in the form of visible light. Now the energy exists in the form of the vibrational kinetic energy of the atoms, which we can feel at heat energy.
