Hi! so it‘s getting close to Christmas time, and every year i like to make things for my older sister. For example, last year i bought a mid sized mirror with a wooden frame from a.c. moore, and painted the frame and put pictures from her wedding (which was in the previous october) all along the frame. but my point is, i like to make handmade things, but ones that look really nice. ANYWAYS, this year, since her and her husband will be moving into a new house in january, i wanted to make them something they could use in their home. i was thinking of making her hand-painted plates that are dishwasher safe, but i wasn‘t sure where to purchase plates that i could handpaint, and what paint to get, and how to get them safe to eat off of, and dishwasher safe. so if you guys know any details that would be greatly appreciated, as i have absolutely no clue how to do this!! thanks!!and if anybody has any other homemade gift ideas that are nice, please let me know!!

Solder will flow toward heat. You don't want to flow toward your heat source but toward the joint. This is why you heat the pipe itself and then touch the solder to the pipe.it allows to solder to flow evenly.

That is realistic if you lay the underlayment and provide all materials (grout, mortar,tile) and don't have any funky patterns or small masaics that take a lot of time to install.

Mine is a ceramic and it does the job, but i really like borrowing my buddy's titanium flat iron! It does wonders! I really like that it actually glides through my hair and i dont see the smoke that comes out when I use warmth protectant, while utilizing the titanium one!

I road my longboard with bones reds bearings to school in the rain (through puddles etc).and now they spin for about 1-2 seconds.they used to spin for more than two minutes!So, just wondering, what are the cheapest full ceramic bearings to get? I heard that you can ride them in the rain without slowing them down.or should I just lube my reds?

if you don't want to drop almost $100 on ceramic bearings, I'd get some Bones Speed Cream. open up the bearings, give 'em a quick acetone wash (just throw them in a jar with a bit of it, and soak 'em), then give them a couple drops of speed cream before you put them back together. The cheapest ceramic bearings I know of are Sector9 Black Ball ceramics, at about 75 bucks. Rockn' Ron's also makes some pretty amazing ceramics, and they're on sale for 79, but are usually 110 (still a good price for ceramics), and Bones has ceramic Super Reds for 79 too.

in the simplest terms, there are two major families of ceramics -- oxides and carbides. If you mean strongest (rather than hardest), a number of the oxides can form strong structures. Bricks made of kaolin clay are are reasonable example. But, if you mean, hardest, you should consider some of the carbides -- like silicon carbide or tungsten carbide. These are so hard and tough that they are used to cut other ceramics (like the brick we just mentioned).
