I am doing a school project and we need to find the cost of solar panels for our school. The problem is i don't know what size the system needs to be. Is it 000 watts or 000000 watts?Also can you find the cost of the system?Thanks

Do higher watt solar panels last longer, efficiency-wise? 3 installers gave me quotes with 3 different sunpower panels. The 225, 25, 20 watt panels. Whats the con and pro's of the different wattages?

If they're all from Sunpower, they're all going to be very similar. Personally, I would ask each supplier to quote with the same model of panel, and see how the prices come out. I would buy based on just dollars per watt, assuming warranty and power tolerance were the same. The lower power panels are often a better bargain, just as the slower, slightly older CPUs in computers are a bargain.

I've been looking into solar panels. They are fairly expensive ($35k or so). My state has some rebates and grants available. Is anyone aware of any federal grants and rebates other than the federal tax credit? We are subject to AMT tax and can't take the credit. (Which is ridiculous, is the federal government committed to conservation or aren't they??????)

My Grandfather just purchased a cheap solar panel kit for his ranch that could not muster enough power to run his mini fridge.He has two 6 volt batteries running positive to negative and would like to add more batteries. Probably 2volt. How would he go about hooking up the other batteries and what kind of wire or coil should he use.Also, I saw on youtube a guy recommending a lead-acid battery from walmart for under $20. I don't have direct experience with the Harbor Freight panels, but have heard that they are agressively rated - i.e., the three 5-watt panels are really 5-watt panels. The 80-watt panel is likely to be a serious panel, rated according to standard test conditions. It will also be more durable, and probably have a warranty of 20 years or more. There's really no comparison. If your goal is to experiment with solar electricity, then get the kit from Harbor Freight (or Northern Tool, or any of a handful of other places). If your goal is to save money, generally you will need a larger scale than 80 watts - several thousand watts being the norm. And the payback time will be measured in years.
