Q:opnions on what the best vacuum cleaner is?
Don't believe the hype on Dyson vacuum cleaners. Although a fantastic vacuum cleaner, they are well overpriced. You are really buying the brand name. The Dyson Ball is the most maneuverable vacuum cleaner on the market. Its very light weight therefore has problems extracting dirt. Very poor performing from that perspective. Even consumer reports ranks Dyson vacuum cleaners low. Last month I actually purchased a DC-17 and Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic to test. The Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic outperformed the Dyson on a dense frieze carpet. The Hoover was mainly better at extracting dust from the carpet. I believe the Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic still sells for about $195.00.
Q:Are there any really quiet vacuum cleaners?
I would recommend either a Miele or a Sebo canister vacuum - they are extremely quiet vacuums (as far as vacuums go), and a lot of pets aren't scared / bothered by them (plus they are both great vacuum cleaners).
Q:Looking for someone to buy used vacuum cleaners?
Do you have ELECTROLUX canister models?
Q:I need advice on vacuum cleaners!?
Are okorder.com/
Q:Dyson Vacuums?
I have a dc15 ball dyson. I love it it sucks up everything. it really works great. and with the lifetime filter i wash that about once a month. the cons.. I like using the floor attachment for the hose for hard floors than the head of the vacuum. but other than that I looooove it!!! plus i like the way it manuveurs easier than others. some say not having a light on this one makes it difficult to see in small places. I have not had that problem.
Q:My vacuum cleaners' brush wont spin when on floor----spins when you take it off the floor, belt is not broken?
Is there a switch to turn it to bare floor? If it has, check to see . Brushes won't turn it it's doing bare floors. Also Take out the Beater Bar, and check at the ends that insert into the roller part. There might be a lot of hair restricting it from turning. Take the roller assembly completely out and check the sockets on the sides. clean out any hair and thread or anything else. Before putting the thing back together, squeeze some dry graphite on any turning parts except where the belt goes. Rub a little bit of bar soap on the belt.(I doubt if you have any belt dressing) Bye
Q:Bagged Vacuum Cleaners?
non bagged vacuum

Q:What vacuum is the best for picking up pet hair? I would like suggestions under $300.?
The Shark Navigator is a small, compact vacuum with features and capabilities similar to that of its full sized and more expensive counterparts. It is by no means a replacement for a Dyson or a Miele, however, at only $140.00, it is a good compromise between more expensive, more powerful units, and cheap vacuums that don't work at all. In our tests, the Navigator did a very good job of picking up pet hair. Consumers also report having a good experience with the Navigator removing pet hair. Shark has also just released the Navigator Lift-Away, which combines an upright vacuum and a canister into one neatly packaged vacuum cleaner. We are currently reviewing the Lift-Away and will have it posted soon. One final note, we have found that bagless vacuums are far superior to bagged vacuums when it comes to pet odor control. We’ve tested Oreck bagged vacuums with special odor control features and very expensive Miele pet vacuums with special odor inhibiting filters, and none of them really work. The only vacuums we’ve found that don’t have pet odor problems are bagless vacuums you can empty regularly, with washable filters that you can wash as often as necessary to control odors.
Q:When did the following become common in homes?
Idon't know when they came about but, washing machine... my mom washed our clothes in an old wringer washer .No spin cycle.Vacuum ...old canister style, where you would empty the bag and use it over.Dishwasher... your own two hands... Dryers...clothes lines, or in the winter a wooden drying rack. Electric Iron, yes,but....mom sprinkled clothes down with water then ironed, no steam irons then.Hand held hair dryers....I was held upside down over a floor heating vent then a cap was placed over your head that had a warm air hose attached to it. Salones had big hood hair dryers.
