Q:I have a Hoover Elite Rewind U5507-900 vacuum that needs a new belt. I mean the belt snapped off, so I know that's the problem but I cannot find what belt size I need! This is a vacuum that was handed down to me, so I never had the owners manual and when I did find one online, it doesn't tell you the belt size you need;

Glad to help Daisy. If you look on the back of the vacuum there should be a sticker with the Model, Serial, and _replacement Belt numbers. If not, when you go to the Grocery Store or most any Department Store that sells Vacuum Cleaners will sell Belts too! The package should say: fits Hoover Elite and several other Models, If you have the old belt you can compare them. Also Daisy when you replace the Belt, check to see if anything caused the Belt to break other than just wear. Most often something gets wrapped around the Beater Bar, (Carpet Fiber/String/Thread/Etc.)something that stops the Bar, causing it to burn up the Belt! Good Luck!

if you are concerned with a vacuum at work in a company with the qualifying number of employees and you want to know whether a licensed electrician has to do the repairs the answer is no. the NEC considers it an appliance. if the cord is damaged it should be replaced. Taping it up will not pass for OSHA

We got one a couple months ago and I've had no complaints with it. The suction is fine and was as good, if not better, than the others in the store I tested. I like the quick disconnect cord too. You can't go wrong with this choice.

Some dogs are some aren't. My dog doesn't mind the vacuum cleaner at all. I'm always telling him to move when I'm cleaning or I'd have to run over him.

Q:Every vacuum I've had has broken. Two Bissells and Eureka. Cleanview Helix, The other Bissel is the powerforce compact, and the Eureka Optima. Anyways, the rollers stop rolling, and when I try to use them now, the smell of rubber is in the air. Is this from running over cat litter, and aquarium pebbles? Yeah, I tried replacing the belts, and cutting the hair off the roller, and they just don't work anymore. It's so frustrating. Been going through this for like two years now, and we went through two vacuum cleaners, this year!Should I see about changing the filters? Could that be it? So, so frustrating!!!!!!

Frankly, I don't think that vacs are made as well as they used to be. I had a Sears Kenmore that I kept alive with replacement parts, from 1983 to about 2007. I bought another Sears Kenmore, and so far, it's a lotta plastic, but I've been pleased...

They will go from room to room if there is nothing in the path of it. They are great if you have open spaces no kids or animals. They are a great invention if as I said you dont have those things.
